Come and stay in "Daughter of the Dales" Hannah Hauxwell's cottage in the heart of the pretty village of Cotherstone, Barnard Castle. Just minutes from the Pennine Way, and with two village pubs within 200m of the front door, the fully renovated cottage is the perfect base for exploring the surrounding area, nearby market towns and is equidistant to the North Yorkshire Moors, Lake District, Northumberland and North East coast. Hannah Hauxwell's village cottage between 2008-2018 is now available for holiday rentals in the beautiful village of Cotherstone. Fully renovated in 2021, the cottage comes with all of the old world charm of a 18th century cottage with all the conveniences of modern day to day living. Boasting a new kitchen with white marble tops and double butler sinks, large open sitting room with cosy wood burner and 3 double bedrooms, Hannah's is less than 200m from two village pubs, about 4 miles from the market town of Barnard Castle, 6 miles from Middleton-in-Teesdale and is fully accessible via good transport links including local buses as well as on foot via the Pennine Way. Complete with 3 double bedrooms, a family bathroom and en suite, Hannah's is an easy and accessible option for a holiday stay or longer in this buccolic and central village location. Guests have use of the full property. Guests have exclusive access to the cottage, with support on hand should this be needed. Located in the Pennine hills, Cotherstone is a pretty village made up mostly of Yorkshire stone houses in a protected conservation area. The village serves as a mid point between the market town of Barnard Castle and the upper Teesdale town of Middleton in Teesdale. Local sights include the famous High and Low Force waterfalls, Half Cup Nick and the village is close to the local reservoirs of Baldersdale. Local amenities in addition to the two village pubs easily accessed from the cottage include Egglestone Hall Gardens, Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle and fantastic dining options including the Rose and Crown in Romaldkirk. Buses from Barnard Castle to the East and Middleton in Teesdale to the West run through the village. The nearest train station serving mainline routes is in Darlington, just over 2 hours from London, or a convenient short trip up from the historic city of York.
