Numero CINQ B&B, Medieval Domfront
Numero CINQ was built in the late 1800's with the local granite. It is built onto the old Perimeter wall of the fortified town, so behind us you can still see the wall of old towers which encircled the medieval town. Renovated in 2006, so alongside original features such as an original oak stairwell there are modern comforts. The view from the house is far flung over this typical Norman countryside. A two minute walk to the 11C castle ruins and the quiet medieval streets of the old town. Numero Cinq Bed and Breakfast is the perfect base from which to explore this fascinating and beautiful region of Normandy. Open all year round we offer you clean and comfortable accommodation with arguably some of the best south facing views of the river Varenne valley in town. The old town of Domfront has a choice of restaurant from a traditional Auberge, a quality Bistro and pizzeria through to galettes/crepes, kebab and burgers. The town in impeccably kept with floral displays throughout the town and the old castle grounds is a charming park with superb views. The byzantine style church is a one off and throughout the summer season there are guided tours and a chance to climb to the inside of the church spire for even more spectacular views. It is advisable to have a car in this region unless you are travelling by bicycle in which case there is great cycling in this area. We are situated on the Velo Scenic route which goes from Paris to Mont St michel and also on the route of Velo Francette which passes from Ouistreham, Caen to La Rochelle. The B&B is in town. It is on a road so during the day there is normal town traffic. Happily during the night this stops and is quiet.
