Grand country house set in woodland in the beautiful Surrey Hills. Just an hour from London, yet a world apart. A comfortable and cosy retreat after walks and traditional pub lunches, it's also ideal for extended families: there's plenty of garden space, a fenced stream, and a children's climbing frame. The beautiful village of Tilford, a mile away, is noted for its photogenic green. Tilford offers a well-stocked shop, two fine pubs and miles of walks around the River Wey. On arrival, guests are greeted by a grand hallway and magnificent sweeping staircase. A sumptuous Victorian dining room with double doors onto the garden is perfect for larger family meals. The adjacent drawing room and conservatory offer spaces for time out, while the children's play room is ideal for informal relaxation. Upstairs, the bedrooms are spacious. The master bedroom, with en suite, has an attached dressing room, equipped will full-sized cot for infants. Outside, guests can explore the extensive garden, including well-fenced pond and stream, and a strip of woodland. The house has fascinating historical connections, which can be explored via a small selection of books. There is plenty of parking for at least four vehicles. The house backs directly onto Hankley Common Golf Club, criss-crossed by bridleways leading to the nearby Hankley Common - with its miles of sandy paths beneath a canopy of trees. The Duke of Cambridge, within a stone's throw, has great food and a wooden adventure playground to keep children occupied. In the centre of Tilford, the Barley Mow offers views of cricket matches on the famous village green, and dining beside the River Wey. The Frensham Ponds are within walking distance, or a short drive. An extensive network of tracks and quiet roads is ideal for cyclists. Bird World and Go Ape are just down the road. The attractive ruins of Waverley Abbey are great for picnics, while the nearby Rural Life Centre offers an insight into the area's history. Slightly further afield lie beautiful villages such as Seale, Puttenham and Frensham. The historic market town of Farnham, less than 10 minutes by road, offers a wide selection of shops and restaurants - as well as direct rail connections to London in under an hour. Parking for up to four vehicles.
