Cosy family summer house near the beach

Light and spacious 110 sqm summer house with big garden offering room for activities like football, pétanque, croquet or just relaxing. The house has been in the family for three generations, and I have modernised while keeping some of my grandparents’ original furniture and belongings, which gives the house a unique character. It is an area with many opportunities for recreation, near both Copenhagen and Jutland Cleaning in line with Covid-19 guidelines (NB - booking settings are check in only Saturday and Sunday - if you need something else, please contact me) As the house is located near the tip of Zealand, where the waters “Kattegat” and “Storebælt” meet, there is a choice between two nice local beaches, according to preferences and wind direction. Kategatt is a 400 metre walk to the North, while Sejrøbugten is 700 metres South. The Kategatt beach is stony, and the Sejrøbugten beach is sandy and with shallow water. Both are very clean and child-friendly, offering a refreshing swim or a sunset walk along the coast. There are many other beaches in the area, including “Gudmindrup Strand” which is 20 minutes away by car, and has been voted best beach in Denmark multiple times. The area offers many options for activities and experiences – see the links to various Danish websites below. Children typically enjoy the amusement park “Sommerland Sjælland”, which besides various rides and playgrounds also has a water land with several slides – both more daring and more gentle varieties. The park is 25 minutes away by car. It is a 15 minute drive to the 5,200 year old gravesite “Birkehøj Jættestue”, and near it is a farm where you can pick and buy strawberries. Just around the corner is “Olga’s” – a small diner with ice creams, sweets, fast food and a swing for the little ones. The nearest city is Havnebyen, 4 km away, which has a supermarket and a small harbour where you can buy fresh fish, have ice cream, catch crabs, enjoy a meal at a restaurant, or just go for a walk and watch the fishing boats. In the area you also find small farms who sell ecological produce. The house is just over an hour’s drive from Copenhagen, the Danish capital. The catamaran ferry to Aarhus in Jutland takes 1.5 hours, and departs a mere 1 km from the house. Aarhus is the second largest city in Denmark and is roughly an hour’s drive away from the famous “Legoland” theme park in Billund. The house is well equipped, with internet (WiFi), and a television with Apple TV. The summer house has a new bathroom, kitchen and beds. There are three bedrooms: two with 160cm wide beds, and one with two bunk beds. There are cosy corners for privacy and quiet relaxing indoors, as well as table tennis. My family has enjoyed many wonderful summers in the house, which I am sure can offer you a great and memorable vacation.
