Blackbird shepherds hut

Blackbird Shepherds Hut is nestled on a rural estate, away from the bustle of the South East, just an hour from London. A natural habitat for wilderness. The spectacular landscape, dark night skies and breath-taking wildlife provide a truly inspirational escape. It is a very special place, and provides an idyllic setting for a weekend escape or simply to immerse yourself in nature and have time to hear the dawn chorus and the owls. This is perfect for those wanting to enjoy simple off grid living in a rural peaceful secluded location set in a field on its own but still well located for Lewes, The South Downs, Glyndebourne, Firle and the Ashdown Forest. It is comfy and warm but the charm is being away from the mod cons. There is a gas hot water outdoor shower, cooking is on the fire or a gas stove if preferred, reading by solar lamps and washing by candle light. The bedding is quality cotton linen and towels are provided. Breakfast can be delivered if requested on arrival(£10pp) Tea and real coffee( plus cafetière) are provided. There is a small cool box which will have ice packs - you will need to bring milk and food for the stay. Kindling and matches are provided and logs are available to purchase on arrival - £5 per bag. There is a blackboard of local wildlife sightings, and a desk which opens as a small shop with a collection of cards, notebooks and nature inspired prints by the owner who is a well established local printer(some of which decorate the hut). Well behaved Dogs are welcome but there is a small charge of £10 per dog for extra cleaning payable on arrival. There are many walks straight from the hut around the woods, hedgerows and fields (maps are in the hut). There is a campsite near by with a small shop where you can by essentials if needed and an ice-cream. If a little treat is required there is a spa with a selection of treatments, sauna, pool and steam room within walking distance where you can purchase a day pass. Within 3 miles of the famous opera house ,Glyndebourne. Only 5 miles from the home of the Bloomsbury set, Charleston Farmhouse which is open for tours and has great exhibitions and talks. The beautiful rolling downs are on the door step providing where you can walk the South Downs Way. The historic market town, Lewes is 5 miles away with many small independent shops and cafes. Please park next to the hut in the allocated parking spot. We have taken cleaning guidelines from air bnb to make sure the hut is free from virus. We will leave the key for you to arrive in your own time( after check in time of 4pm) and to make sure social distancing is applied. Please can you strip the bed before you go and put into the black bag provided to help keep us safe from the virus.
