Delft is a lovely and lively city, if you don’t already know that, well, I won’t spoil the surprise for you now. You will be literally situated at its doorstep, and will enjoy the royal entrance through the Prince’s castle’ gate, while still being able to retreat swiftly to a well deserved quiet rest after your stroll around the typical canals. Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport are easily accessible by car or train (approx 45min-1h), Rotterdam and TheHague as well (approx 15min) Just park your car or step off the tram or train and stroll randomly through the old city center. While bike is the obvious Dutch choice for getting around I would suggest to just walk and take time to admire whatever myriad of tiny details Delft will undoubtedly entertain you with. My cat owns the place, she’s adorable and independent, and might ask for strokes but only if you get properly acquainted. She’s fairly easy to please, and hey! She’s the boss!
