Smugglers Retreat, in an idyllic sand dune setting

Secluded beach-side accommodation set within the sand dunes of Sea Palling’s Blue Flag beach! We are a few miles from the famous Horsey seal colony (spectacular in winter with 100s of seals) & Norfolk Broads including Hickling Broad, a favourite for wildlife lovers. The studio has private entrance, en-suite bathroom, basic kitchenette and courtyard garden with outdoor cooking station and barbecue. It’s an extension of a family home but the private entrance means you can come and go as you please The studio room comprises a double bed, table and chairs and a two-seater sofa-bed (bedding for sofa-bed available on request). Fully dog friendly, with enclosed garden space. There is one decked area overlooking the garden and fields. Plus, a private courtyard garden with table, chairs, decked area, barbecue and a glamping-style outdoor cooking station. The bathroom has a shower, basin and toilet. The kitchenette includes fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Please note that there is no hob or oven. There is also no kitchen sink, but we do offer to wash up your dishes during the day when you are out, on request. Travel cot available on request, with bedding (no extra charge) We have an ELECTIC VEHICLE charge point (BP Chargemaster, not Teslar). Please let me know in advance if you are bringing an EV, as there is a charge of £5 for each night stayed. This will be payable prior to your stay please and will be arranged through the Air BnB 'additional payments' section. The accommodation comes with a secluded courtyard garden, not used by anyone other than the Air BnB resident. There is also a decked area looking out over the fields, adjacent to the family garden, ideal for watching the Norfolk sunset. The accommodation is accessible via a gravel pathway, to the side of the main house. You will be able to access the EV Charge Point if you let us know in advance. £5 per night stayed. We are usually around and are available to welcome and meet you if you wish, and help you with anything that you may need. This accommodation is within an easy walk of village with shop, fish and chip shop (seasonal), pub with live music at the weekends, café and small family amusement arcade. Lobsters and crabs are a local speciality, let us know if you'd like to order any in advance (seasonal). Smugglers Retreat is located on the Norfolk coastal route with great walks in either direction. The seal colony at Horsey is just a few miles away (at it's peak November to January), as is fantastic wildlife and bird watching at Hickling Broad. It's a great area to explore on bicycles or on foot. Public transport is limited. The accommodation contains a basic kitchenette with fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, perfect for a continental breakfast or a light bight. There are a number of local pubs with good food, including The Greyhound in Hickling, a short drive away. Additionally, the studio is an extension of our family home. There is a chance that you may hear or see us around, including in the main garden during your stay. Please rest assured that we are very aware to minimise disturbance and that the studio's courtyard garden is completely private. Please let us know in advance if bringing an electric vehicle. There is a flat rate additional charge of £5/night, payable in advance please as you will have access to our EV Chargepoint.
