Alton forest lodge is a unique woodland hidaway set in beuatiful ancient forest on the edge of the peak district national park. A spacious woodland lodge, sleeps up to 12 people. Located in the stunning dimmingsdale heritage woodland. This bueatiful one time youth hostel is clad in waney edge larch and nestles superbly into the sourounding forest. Gaze out from the traditional wood fired hottub into the woodland night or just lie back, close your eyes and listen to the woodpeckers. With a 100 square meter decking area the lodge is well equiped for outdoor living. Inside you will find further luxoury, a large living area equipped with modern open plan kitched with large state of the art range cooker, looks over the dining area with huge handbuilt pitch pine dining table following onto a generous lounge area with comfy sofas, 42" led tv and a log burning stove. The room also benefits from a bespoke library wall covered in hundreds of books. Three large bedrooms are all individualy designed and can sleep up to 4 people. Bed layout for each room can be tailored to every booking. Just let us know if you want single beds, double beds or a mix in each room and we ll arrange it all before you arrive. The lodge has 2 bathrooms, Each is tiled from floor to ceiling. The larger of the 2 fitted with a triple sized shower cubicle and both boasting modern power showers. Gas central heating throughout, a logburner in the lounge and our handbuilt double glazed windows ensure that you ll be toasty warm on the coldest of nights. Dimmingsdale is covered in a beautiful ancient woodland. The woods have dozens of footpaths which allow ramblers to discover its natural beauty year round. The area is also a very popular mountain biking area with trails from the family friendly xc routes all the way up to the gnarly and steep enduro and downhill tracks. Rock climbing is also on offer as dimmingsdale boasts some of Englands finest sandstone bouldering crags, all within walking distance of the lodge, even with a heavy mat on your back. Set right on the edge of the beautiful and popular peak district national park, you'll find the lodge an ideal base from which to explore. Alton towers is just 2 miles from the lodge too, so if you fancy a few theme park thrills you're in just the right place. Thank you for reading about our lodge.
