Beautiful Poros&Sea views 5min walk to the Beach!

Enjoy this spacious, bright house, its large terrace with a stunning view of the old town of Poros island and the Aegean sea. Relax by the trees in the hammock or outdoor bath while sipping a glass of wine or morning coffee watching the boats go by. Our place is perfect for families and friends. Great spot from which you can explore Poros and Peloponnese. We will share with you the best tips about beaches, nearest 5min walk, restaurants, coffee shops, activities you can do or sites you can visit It is a traditional house that has been newly renovated but still has some old treasures left, (like the marmor-sink in the kitchen!). The house is located on the edge of the area of Galatas, on a small, quiet country road. Many prefer living in this area than in the old town of Poros, as you are closer to beaches as well as to the main attraction, the old town of Poros itself. From our house it takes 7min to walk to the nearest small traditional boats that take you across, to the old town, on a 2min boat ride, which is just a charming experience on its own! It costs 1 eur per person, young children don't pay (boats are available 24/7, every 10min). The house has 2 bedrooms plus 1 room which can be a living room or 3rd bedroom upon request. Eight persons can sleep comfortably, in both king size beds as well as single beds. You have a fast wi-fi and new air-conditioner in all the house. The kitchen is fully equipped for ease of preparing meals as well as cleaning up afterwards (dishwasher). The house is bright, with simple yet classic stylish decor. It has a spacious terrace in the shape of letter "L" (with sofas, chairs and a large table for outdoor dining) with a spectacular view on the picturesque old town of Poros and the Aegean sea. There is a lovely garden with gorgeous local trees, plants, a hammock and a outdoor bath to relax in. Fresh linens, towels, beach towels will allow you to feel comfortable and like home (so we hope :-)). And if you feel like washing some clothes, you have a washing machine to make use of (with drying line outside behind the kitchen). The closest beach to the house is only 5min walk away. The beach is not organised but for a quick morning or afternoon swim, it is a delight. There are other unorganised beaches as well as organised nearby. For organised beaches, you have: Plaka about 15-20min walk, Aliki about 30min walk (perfect beach for children, shallow waters and sand). Take our bicycles and you will go even faster :-)). These beaches have sun beds, umbrellas, bathrooms, shower and are serving food and beverages so you can relax the whole day next to the water. Most of the organised beaches on Poros Island are further away from the old town and reached either by local bus (1,5 eur), taxi (4-8 euro), rented car or motorcycles. At the house, you will always find parking available (don't worry, Greek villages are very safe!) so if you have cars or scooters you can leave it right in front. The house has a private access through a stairway that may be difficult for people with walking impairments. You have the whole house and other common areas like the garden and terraces. We also provide bicycles, as mentioned earlier, if you wish. The whole district is wonderful for exploring by bicycle to the beaches, restaurants or for shopping. On the Poros side, be prepared for some uphills every now and then when going to the numerous beaches behind the island. Galatas has 2000 inhabitants, another 3000 live on Poros island. It is one community, as they are only divided by a 200m sea channel. When you stay for a bit longer than a few days you start feeling like a local. Shop and business owners will recognise you, greet you, they will know what coffee you like, what food you enjoy and what beer or wine you like to drink. They are also extremely helpful, kind and they support one another, so if you find yourself needing assistance of any kind, they will be more than happy to offer it! Of course so will we! You have the whole house and other common areas like the garden, hammock, outdoor bath and terraces. We also provide bicycles, if you wish. We will happily pick you up from the ferry (which arrives on Poros island) or meet you in Galatas. We can also arrange for transportation directly from Athens airport to the house. If you choose to travel by car or by bus from Athens, we will meet you in an agreed spot in Galatas and take you to the property. We live just a 10min walk from the house so we will be close by in case you need any help or just want to hang out. We also organise various activities and experiences for our guests. You will find, within a 10min walk, all amenities you require in the region, including beaches, grocery stores, local produce markets, even a spa. There are also numerous beaches on Poros island, which you can explore walking, cycling, by local bus, taxi, rented car, scooter or 4x4 bike. We also offer a number of activities in the area, as well as memorable sailing trips in the Saronic Gulf. Our region is a great place for visiting nearby beaches, historical sites (including two UNESCO World Heritage Sites - the Sanctuary of Asclepius with the gorgeous Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus and the Palace of Mycenae in Tiryns), the stunning volcanic peninsula of Methana, the wine making region of Nemea and the famous Lemon Tree grove which is 20-30min walk away. You can walk to the small centre of the area of Galatas, 10min walk, the beaches, go across from Galatas to Poros island with the traditional small boats. You can take the bicycles we provide. The drive from Athens International Airport is 2.5 hours on a well sign posted route, There is also a regular bus connection. Alternatively, guests can pick up the fast ferry from the Port of Piraeus and be at Poros island in 1 hour - the cost is 25 eur per person, children reduced price. (In summertime, 5 daily arrivals). The internet site (Website hidden by Airbnb) There is also a slow ferry option of 2.5h at 13-15 eur per person. (Website hidden by Airbnb) will pick you up right there or meet you across on the side of Galatas. There is an Airport bus (X96) to the Port of Piraeus, costs 5-6 eur per person, children reduced price, it takes 45min, however it can take longer if you travel during high traffic hours. If you wish, we can also organise a door to door pick-up from the airport, bringing you straight to the house with no hassle! The cost is 180 eur for up to 4 people or 220 eur for up to 8 people.
