Single room in a large Edwardian house in the handsome "Avenues" conservation area of Hull, midway between the University and the city centre. The room looks out over a long, well-tended garden. The spacious bathroom is for use of guests only. This is a gay and lesbian (LGBT) friendly household. Large room in the "North Wing" of the house is very private. Double bed with 500 thread count sheets, towels etc, an armchair and a desk; a bathroom just down the hall is for sole use of guests. I have one other spare room sometimes used by friends etc so guests may from time to time have to share bathroom with another person--but usually it will be all yours. Guests are welcome to use the living room with TV. Free wifi. Kitchen available for snacks, tea etc. Music room available by arrangement. Garden access whenever you like. I am mostly at home during the day and am happy to help out with anything at all. The neighborhood known as the Avenues (Website hidden by Airbnb) has been the preferred location of artists, writers, and other notable people who have made their home in Hull. Westbourne Avenue, with its wide verges and tall canopy of trees, is the finest of the four thoroughfares. It is ideally situated between the University and the city centre, with easy access to the beautiful countryside around the city, the charming market town of Beverley, and the coast. There is an attractive park at the end of Westbourne Avenue, and many restaurants, coffee shops and pubs on nearby Princes and Newland Avenues. Even though we are close to the centre of the city, the neighbourhood's long gardens create a quiet haven for wildlife. Foxes, owls, hedgehogs and frogs have all been seen near the house. Free on street parking available. Buses towards the city centre run along Chanterlands Avenue a few minutes walk from the house. From there, buses and trains will take you all over the area. An elderly whippet has the run of the house. This is a meat free household (aside from dog meat!) but I can provide the makings of delicious and substantial vegetarian breakfast. I usually leave breakfast foods out for guests in the morning so that we can all come and go as we please.
