Green idyll with city access
A quiet, comfortable room in one of the most beautiful cities of Germany is ready for you! Perfect for working people, students, and the like. Our cozy little guest room in the green quarter of Rissen is fine for relaxing, reading, or studying; the state-of-the-art window offers perfect insulation so you will not hear any traffic, which is rare anyway, and keeps the room nice and warm. The room is furnished with a comfortable bed, a wall desk with chair, and a wardrobe; bedlinen, towels, drinking water, and sweets are included in the price; slippers are available if necessary. Sorry no kitchen use but the house is close to a nice little shopping street where you will find a number of nice bakeries and cafés offering breakfast, coffee to go, and lunch. You can store a small amount of food/drinks in the cooling box. Our house is a bungalow; key will be handed out on arrival - a matter of trust to us! Sorry we have to charge € 30,- for lost keys. The WC/shower (shared with the studio upstairs if occupied) is across the central hall; please bring a dressing gown or the like and slippers. We respect our guests‘ need for rest and independence but please do not hesitate tell us your questions and wishes. Our street is very quiet and green without any through-going traffic but easily accessible: It is just 8-10 min’s walk to the urban rail station and to our nice little shopping street; on the way you will find a launderette, hairdresser(s), snack bar, icecream bar, sports bar etc. A number of cafés and restaurants offer a good breakfast and other meals incl. take-away. “Schöns Park”, 10 min north, and “Wittenbergener Heide” nature preserve area near Elbe river, 10 min south, are perfect for walking and jogging (see map) Distances: By car: approx. 3 min to commuter road; 10 min to picturesque Blankenese, 20 min to highway, 30 to 45 min to city centre / airport / main station By train: You get to us and downtown within 45 min without changing trains. The city train line S1 goes every 20 min, in rush hours every 10 min, weekends from 4:00 through midnight, travelling 36 min plus footwalk. In the small hours there is a night bus which is a little slower, on weekends trains go around the clock. Day or long-term tickets valid in the entire urban region are available in the book shop at station Blankenese or at HVV counters in Altona, Jungfernstieg, and main station. The Hamburg Card is the best choice for a city tour. We will be pleased to help with information on traffic, sightseeing, etc. Like always Hamburg offers big events, not only super musicals: Join thousands of visitors celebrating the Port Birthday in spring, watch the tennis German Open at Rotherbaum in July, admire enormous ships on the Hamburg Cruise Days and enjoy the Alster Festival in September, or indulge in international cinema at the FilmFest in October. And there is much more! The price includes City Culture and Tourism Tax. Big luggage may be stored in the cellar. W-LAN access will be explained upon request after arrival. Hamburg is known for its moderate weather - fresh wind, clouds, and rain showers are normal.
