This spacious suite is light, airy and comfortably sleeps up to 3 guests with en-suite shower and separate toilet and basin. Facilities to make light breakfast within The Annexe (welcome pack provided). TV, DVD, Wii and good wifi. The Annexe is surrounded by beautiful countryside providing lovely walks and cycle rides from the doorstep. A pub at either end of the lane! COVID-19 We have chosen to adhere to the strict Airbnb cleaning discipline for all stays. Our policy during this time, and always, is to clean The Annexe scrupulously. We have a no-contact entry system to The Annexe and it is totally independent of the main house so it's ideal for maintaining social distancing. Excellent take-aways are currently available from The Fox (free delivery, closed Mondays and Tuesdays). There are also Indian, Chinese and Thai delivery options - something for all tastes. A good choice of local places to eat out are available for outside dining and from 17/5, hopefully, indoor provision, too! There is a no-contact key safe entry system. We are offering a truly lovely spacious (32 sq m) suite with an en-suite shower room and separate toilet and basin. The shower room was given a lovely fresh make-over in December 2021. The room is light, airy and decorated in a fresh, beach-inspired style with high ceilings and open eaves providing a stylish, contemporary haven. The Annexe is totally independent from the main house with its own entrance. We live in The Old Vicarage so are generally there if you need us. Self check-in is available, if preferred. The Annexe has a king-sized bed (5') and a single bed. Both beds are extremely comfortable divans with good quality, feather duvets, freshly ironed bed linen and a choice of pillows. Fluffy towels are also provided. There is a seating area with small sofa and coffee table, and for your entertainment - 40" Smart HD TV with wi-fi enabled , DVD player (a selection of DVDs provided), Wii console (a few games provided) and a box of traditional games for all ages. There is free WiFi with a good connection. The room can comfortably sleep up to 3 people. There is a built-in shelved cupboard for storing clothes and hangers also provided. We welcome well-behaved, clean dogs but ask our guest to please ensure they are happy to accept our Dog Rules (under House Rules). We charge £10 per stay for dogs to cover the cost of extra cleaning. Please note the Courtyard area is not totally enclosed. We ask our guests to bring a dog bed and bowls and to dispose of any dog waste. There are facilities to make hot drinks and a small fridge and toaster to enable our guests to make a casual breakfast. We provide a "welcome pack" of a small loaf, butter, homemade jam, milk, a choice of cereals, together with tea, coffee and biscuits, to make you feel at home. We hope thoughtful little details such as the provision of a powerful hairdryer, lovely Cole and Lewis bathroom products, fresh milk in the fridge and all your washing-up done for you will make our guests feel special. The Annexe has good heating in cold weather and a fan (with a sleep mode quieter than a Dyson!) for hot weather. There is a heated towel rail in the shower room which can be operated all year round and another heated towel rail in the toilet room which is available when the heating is on. There is a small courtyard which in the warmer months is furnished with table and two chairs (to relax - read a book, enjoy your morning coffee or perhaps a sundowner.) Our guests stay at The Annexe for many different reasons. Some are visiting friends in the area, attending a wedding or party, many are traveling and appreciate a comfortable bed for the night, a lot are on business and want a 'home from home'. Increasingly many guests come just to relax, unwind, enjoy the beauty of the countryside and a pint at a genuine local pub. The Annexe is a tranquil space where our guests find they can relax and escape today's stresses. Every consideration has been given to our guests' well-being. Our aim is to make a little oasis of calm where our guests can unwind, feel at home and recharge their batteries. There is an allocated parking space on the drive. We aim to respond to all enquiries and requests quickly as we know how frustrating it can be waiting. Once a booking has been confirmed we email our guests a guide to The Annexe, recommendations on local restaurants and places to visit, etc to help you plan your stay and make the most of your time here. We are lucky to welcome back several repeat guests. The Annexe and a boot/dog/cycle washing area. A courtyard garden which is paved with a small table and 2 chairs. Access to The Old Vicarage and its garden are strictly private. Having travelled extensively and stayed in a vast array of accommodation from luxury hotels to bed and breakfast (including Airbnb), from tents and pubs to even Napalese tea rooms, we felt we might be qualified to share our home and decided to open our doors to welcome guests to stay. Having experienced good and bad places to stay we hope we are able to offer our guests what they need to make their stay more comfortable and enjoyable. We love meeting new people and now, as empty nesters, have the time to give our guests. However, if you prefer your privacy The Annexe is perfect as it is totally independent from the house. We look forward to meeting you. Rudgwick is nestled between the North and South Downs, close to the Surrey Hills but also an easy drive to the coast. If you love nature, you will love it here. There is a vast choice of walks and cycle rides available on the doorstep. There's loads to do in the area and some great pubs and places to eat. At either end of our lane you will find a pub. One is about a 20 minute walk and the other is just five minutes walk. Both pubs serve food and provide takeaways. Also down the lane is a really cute cafe called The Milk Churn. It is owned by the local farmer who produces Sussex Charmer (cheese) from his herd of cows. Here you can get a bacon buttie in the morning or fantastic cheese on toast for lunch. Next to the Milk Churn is a micro-brewery where you can book a tour, or just pop in and taste the local brew. You will also find a pretty church and a well stocked, open-all -hours shop where you can buy any provisions you might need (including freshly baked bread and croissants!). There are some really beautiful local walks (the local woods are a carpet of wild flowers including bluebells and wild onions during the Spring), or if you have your own transport there are loads of places to visit close-by. Guildford is great for shopping or hiring a rowing boat to take a trip down the river. Petworth Park is about a half hour drive away. The coast is less than an hour. Fisher's Farm is lovely for children and only about a quarter of an hour's drive. The quintessentially English village of Shere is about a 20 minute drive - this is where Holiday and Bridget Jones were filmed. Arundel Castle is well worth a visit, as is Chichester. I could go on and on..... Rudgwick has become a cycling mecca as it is situated just off the Downs Link (a disused railway track from Guildford to the coast) now used by cyclists and walkers. The famous Olympic cycle route is just a few miles down the road. A wash down area for cycles and doggies can be provided, if necessary. Gatwick Airport is a convenient 30 minute drive. The view from The Annexe window is of our home, The Old Vicarage dating back to 1450. There is a bus stop a five minute walk away. Number 63 Arriva buses go every hour to Guildford about a 45 minute ride (from here you can get a fast train to London) in one direction and Horsham in the other. Buses are every hour (none on Sundays, Bank Holidays or in the evenings). The view from The Annexe window is of our home, The Old Vicarage, dating back to 1450. Please bear in mind The Annexe is upstairs and therefore unsuited to anyone who can't manage stairs. Please note, the Annexe is totally separate from The Old Vicarage. We love children and infants and want to ensure their safety at all times. They are welcome to stay at The Annexe but we ask that parents make their own risk assessment for the safety of their children on the premises as in our view it is not safe for mobile infants/toddlers for the following reasons: The Annexe is on the first floor so stairs could be a danger. There are also various uncovered sockets at a low level. The television is not secured to its stand. Kettle and toaster are at todder height. There are cleaning products in an unlocked cupboard. Unfortunately we do not supply cots or other infant related items. No charge is made for infants under the age of 2. We welcome well-behaved, clean doggies. We make a £10 charge per stay to cover the cost of extra cleaning. The Courtyard area is not totally enclosed. We ask our guest to please ensure they are happy to accept our Dog Rules (under House Rules). Please note the Courtyard area is not totally enclosed. We ask our guests to bring a dog bed and bowls and to dispose of any dog waste. Please note Airbnb policy is for hosts not to accept third party bookings. All bookings must be made by the person staying. Instead of making a reservation for someone else, consider referring them to Airbnb. You can refer them to Airbnb directly from your dashboard by clicking the Invite Friends button. When a referred friend or family member successfully completes a qualifying reservation, you’ll earn travel credit and so will they!
