Located just ten minutes from Summersville Lake and the Gauley River, this cozy one bedroom guest house is the perfect base camp for lazy lake days or exploring our newest national park. A queen size bed and futon means your family of four can enjoy a quiet getaway or outdoor adventure. The hammock next to a pond and fire pit helps make memories to last a lifetime. Boat or trailer parking and pasture available for horses. Kayaks available for the lake or river. The Guest House at Dragonfly Farms is centrally located between boating, swimming, snorkeling, and climbing opportunities at Summersville Lake, Gauley or Meadow rivers and our nation’s newest national park, the New River. We have two adult and one child’s kayak available for you. There’s also plenty of space to park your boat or trailer. This is a working homestead so you might catch sight of a yardbird or two! Bring the marshmallows and make some s’mores over the fire pit or take a nap in the Pawley’s Island hammock by the pond. You’re just twenty-five minutes from downtown Fayetteville’s awesome restaurant scene, quirky independent shops, and whitewater/climbing adventures galore. Several great dining options are within fifteen minutes and we’re always happy to offer recommendations! You will have your own little piece of Almost Heaven with a stocked pond for fishing, fire pit, and Pawley’s Island hammock. Make s’mores and tell spooky ghost tales or just kick back and relax under the trees. We hope you’ll find yourself right at home while you’re here and let me know if there’s anything you need! Whether it’s trout fishing on freestone streams, climbing the renowned New River Gorge, mountain biking killer single track, hiking to breathtakingly scenic vistas, or scuba diving at nearby Summersville Lake you’ll find plenty of activities to keep you busy. Need advice on the best trails, what flies are hot right now, where to find a perfect latte, or who has the best burger and pizza? Just ask! I can hook you up with local guides, boat or mountain bike rentals, or just where to grab a cold beer. If you want to make the perfect surprise getaway let me know and I’ll do whatever I can to help out! Parking is available directly outside the guest house. There’s plenty of firewood for s’mores and I can deliver more if you need it! If you bring a boat, trailer, or anything oversized we can park it safely in the driveway or field. Horses are welcome, though we do have barbed wire fencing so that’s at your own risk.
