Peartree Cottage Annex

Beautiful self contained one bedroom detached cottage with parking Pretty self contained one bedroom cottage, with ensuite bathroom and king size bed. There is a well equipped kitchen area with a microwave, electric hob, oven/grill, slow cooker, toaster and tea and coffee making facilities. Unfortunately I am unable to provide a cooked breakfast but will always ensure you have some milk and a small welcome pack (croissants/bread, butter, preserves, yoghurt, granola and fruit) for your immediate needs. If you wish to make your own cooked breakfast there are adequate facilities to grill and fry or you can just use the small oven/grill to warm the croissants through. Tea and coffee (instant and filter) is available for your use. We keep some sliced bread in the freezer so can you have fresh toast whenever you like, with a small selection of preserves (including our homemade jams). The living/dining area has a dining table and chairs for some intimate dining by candle light, or stretch out on the sofa after a days walking with a well earned cuppa or beer/wine and a take away. Alternatively pop out to the pub/cafe next door for supper. (please note however, that The Romer Arms is not open on a Monday). We have an agreement with the Romer Arms (Maria & David) that if you would like to take your supper/lunch back to the Annex to eat, they will happily plate something up for you? The food is Portuguese and the facility more of a cafe than a pub, however we would thoroughly recommend the seafood stew, monkfish stew, skewers and tiger grilled prawns. The food is prepared fresh when ordered so it is best to give them some advance notice if you have time constraints. However, there are other great local dining options (information on the sideboard with our personal recommendations all within a 3/4 mile radius) The small oven/grill is also quite handy for pizzas and ready meals. Please be careful that as the oven housing does get hot when used for a long period of time. If you are mega organised, why not use the slow cooker so your supper is waiting for you at home after your long walk. Off street parking on the paved area (outside the front door - see picture). If you have more than one car, please advise us in advance and we can juggle our own cars to accomodate your additional needs. Great walking location, and easy access to the market town of Daventry. Newnham is surrounded by beautiful countryside providing great walking to neighbouring villages which offer a variety of eating and drinking venues. There are also a selection of local takeaways that will deliver to Newnham from Daventry. We are approximately 2 miles from Fawsley Hall, 2.5 miles to Dodford Manor/Dodmoor House wedding venues, 10 miles to Althorpe House and Estate, and 15 miles to Silverstone with easy access to the M1 junction 16 or 18. The nearest train stations are Rugby or Northampton There is a small bistro table and patio chairs just outside the annex for guests to use when the weather is nice. If you are feeling adventurous, pack yourselves up with a picnic (there is a basket and blanket for you in the Annex) and head off to Badby Woods, Everdon Stubbs or Fawsley Park - these are nice easy walks with access to either Fawsley Hall or the village pubs for further refreshment. I have left a walking map in the sideboard for a great circular walk and details/recommendations for the pubs as previously mentioned.
