Quaint and Cosy Cottage
This quaint and cosy cottage is located in the heart of Alton village on the edge of Dimmingsdale. Close to fantastic pubs, walks, cycling routes, JCB, and of course the famous Alton Towers. The Cottage consists of two bedrooms- the first offering a double bed, the second with a single suitable for a single adult or children. The cottage also offers a small courtyard space with a table and two chairs ideal for your early morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Travel Cot available Pet Friendly Full of charm, character and original quarry tiles, the Cottage consists of two bedrooms- the first a double hosting a double bed, wardrobe space large mirror and a lovely window to the front overlooking woodland. The second offers a single bed suitable for a single adult or two small children (travel cot available) with a window to the rear overlooking the neighbouring cottage rooftops. This bedroom also offers a dressing table and mirror, which also doubles up as a perfect desk space. The Cottage offers on street parking-no permits or charges required. The Cottage provides a collection of DVD's books, magazines, children's toys and board games. Unfortunately we don't have WIFI, (the 4G is very good Im on EE) but we do have a TV licence and a DVD Player. The Cottage itself is within walking distance to fantastic pubs (Most of which are dog friendly). Alton also offers a village shop and post office. Alton Towers by AA route planner says 2miles door to door. The Cottage would also suit workers for JCB, World Headquarters at Rocester ( AA route planner says 3.4miles door to door) The cottage is Pet friendly and plenty of local pubs and cafes are too. The Cottage is all yours for your entire stay. Alton is a beautiful village set on the edge of the Churnet Valley, from the river and disused railway track (which is a great walk to the local Farm Shop) the Gothic design of Alton Castle sets a romantic scene with magnificent views. Alton is also very well known for hosting Alton Towers, fabulous routes around the Peak district and fantastic pubs!!! Dimmingsdale and the Churnet Valley are a short walk (approx 1mile)- if you do, you must stop by at the wonderful Ramblers Retreat for a re-fuel ( lots of cake ). Near by you can also visit the delightful market towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, Buxton & Matlock where you can get lost exploring the vintage shops and consume endless amounts of fish & chips. The Beauty spots of the Peak District including Thorpe Cloud, Ilam, and Milldale are just a few miles away. Dovedale and the famous stepping stones are approx 10 miles away. Thor’s Cave is approx 13miles. The Potteries house the famous factories of Emma Bridgewater and Portmerion with shops available for purchasing your favourite pieces . In a short drive you can also reach the beautiful Chatsworth House, National Trust's Sudbury Hall and Shugborough Hall, which all offer great exhibitions and great days out for children. The Cottage itself is within walking distance to wonderful village pubs including The Bridge, and The Talbot Inn. (Most pubs in the village are dog friendly). The Bulls Head also offers a delicious Smokehouse & Pizzeria menu, and most pubs offer a take out service if required. Alton also offers a village shop and post office.
