Cosy Cotswold cottage with garden and parking

Enjoying a lovely rural setting on a 430 acre farm on the edge of the Cotswolds , Akeman Cottage is a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds and central England. Situated 4 miles from the old market town of Witney, the Cotswold villages of Burford, Stow, Bourton on the Water and Bibury are close by. Oxford is 15 miles away and Stratford approximately 30 miles. Burford Wildlife Park, Blenheim Palace and other National Trust houses and gardens are also nearby. This Cotswold stone cottage was converted from old stables and a coach house and is very light and airy. There is an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with French doors leading to its own private garden. Also on the ground floor, there is a double bedroom and a bathroom with bath and shampoo spray attachment, toilet and washbasin. Upstairs there is a twin bedroom and a storage cupboard. We aim to meet guests on arrival and live close by so will usually be available to help with any questions and offer any advice. The cottage is set in a very peaceful location with a wealth of birdlife and wildlife and the farm and surrounding area is great for walking. We have a very good pub with excellent food within a quarter of a mile called The Bird in Hand. A car is essential as we are off the beaten track about a quarter of a mile from the main road (B4022) between Charlbury and Witney. There is a bus which stops on the main road and goes into Witney but they are not very frequent. Charlbury railway station (on the line to Oxford and London Paddington) is about 4 miles away.
