Room in Georgian cottage next to cathedral (women)

WOMEN ONLY Grade II listed cottage in central St Albans, next to the cathedral and Veralum Park, within historic Verulamium. Huge range of pubs, restaurants and cafes just minutes away. The room is my converted basement with a large sofabed with memory foam mattress. Has big TV with Now/Sky Atlantic/Prime/Apple. Small office area attached. Short stays only (not suitable for temporary living situations eg student accommodation). You can use the ground floor living and dining area, kitchen inc pots, plates, washer-dryer etc and garden and bathroom as you wish. Tea, coffee, milk all provided, as well as clean bedding and fresh towels. Bedroom, living/dining area, kitchen, bathroom and garden. Think of yourself as my personal guest. This home is less perfect than a hotel but it’s also a home and I will do my absolute best to make you feel welcome. You are free to use the whole house so please don’t feel you need to sit in your room alone. But if you do prioritise chilling out by yourself the basement room offers maximum quiet and privacy. Historic pubs, huge park, famous cathedral, shops and restaurants and great coffee shops. The main bus stops for the railway station, Harpenden and Wheathampstead are a short five minute walk. If you are arriving by car I will provide parking permits as the street is residents’ parking only. If you require extra security for your car there is a municipal car park at the top of the street. 1) My son, 8, is here with me for half the week and the house can be lively in the mornings. It’s not a quiet hotel sanctuary so be aware you’re here as the guest of a family - but we love guests and do our best to be welcoming hosts. I am likely to be constantly offering you things and son is very chatty! Please note we have a cat in case of allergies. 2) I work from home most Monday-Wednesdays and usually do not let the room out during such times. 3) Our bathroom is on the ground floor. 4) It can take a while to find a parking space in the cathedral district. I’ll provide a parking permit. 5) This is a basement room which has a large double sofa bed that I’ve added a memory foam mattress to. There’s a small office/dressing area attached. This room also has a TV with Now TV (basic Sky but not Sport)/Amazon/Apple. There’s a trickle fan and dehumidifier/air purifier down there that you can turn on and off as you wish. I’ve tried the sofabed myself for a week to see if it’s suitable - my verdict is it is as comfortable as the manufacturer claims: (Website hidden by Airbnb) 6) This is not a huge house so I use cupboards in the bedroom to store my own items. I can’t offer the same amount of storage space that a full-time housemate/lodger would expect. It’s not suitable for ppl who are looking for student accommodation or other temporary living situations.
