Holme Lea is a private suite in the old Mill Manager's Cottage of Glasshouses Mill. With its own front and rear entrance, double bedroom, kitchenette, shower room and living room with log burner, it has everything you need for a cosy stay in beautiful Nidderdale. It also has wifi, off-road parking, an outside tap for cleaning bikes, a south-facing small front garden with seating just for guests. Dogs very welcome. It’s a scenic 25 minute walk along the River Nidd to Pateley Bridge. Holme Lea is the guest annex of our home dating from 1850. The double bedroom is at the front and looks over the Mill, hillsides and woodland beyond. The modern shower room is at the rear, adjacent to the kitchen, which is itself equipped for light meals with induction hob, mini oven, microwave, fridge (no freezer), sink and all basics (no dishwasher). It is level access from the car parking space and there is just one step into the back and front doors. There is also plenty of space to store your bikes indoors, in the front entrance way. An old stone lion guards the front door next to the small terrace where you can sit outside with a drink and enjoy the view. We warmly invite you to share the quirks of our house - there is a piano in the bedroom and a cosy log burner in your living room with TV & DVD player. We'll leave you in peace to enjoy your stay, but we're just next door should you need anything at all. There is parking space for guests in the shared drive at the back of the property, and the bus stop, where you can get to Pateley Bridge or Harrogate, is less than 10 minutes' walk away. The Dales Bus also operates in the area, and can take you deeper into the Dales. Along the River Nidd, the walk to Pateley is almost completely flat, but if you fancy something a bit more challenging, the Nidderdale Way passes right in front of the doorstep, or you can hike to Brimham Rocks and back in a day. There are cycling routes for every level of challenge, from beginner to Tour de France. There is private parking for guests at the back of the property.
