Fox Cottage is a south facing single storey barn conversion, set amidst the open fields and paddocks of the Cotswolds. It has a wood burning stove. The sofa bed fee is charged if the sofa bed needs to be used if there is only one person in the main bedroom and it is required by another guest. PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF DIRECTIONS. 2 Nights minimum stay (except Bank holidays where a minimum of 3 nights is required, depends on the length of the bank holiday.) Courtesy bottle of wine for 6 nights or more This south-facing renovated single storey barn conversion forms one side of a courtyard on a non-working farm amidst open fields and paddocks. Opposite, across the courtyard, are the stables for the owners' horses. If you want to get away from it all, this could be ideal! Fox Cottage is warm and cosy with oil fired central heating and a large woodburning stove. To supplement the double bedroom there is a double sofa bed in the sitting area (£50 per week). Children are welcome and a cot and high chair are available. Parking is adjacent to the cottage. The lobby entrance has plenty of space to leave coats and walking shoes and leads through (with a step down) to a 34ft by 12ft open plan kitchen/dining and sitting room with pale, laminated wood flooring. Full height and with exposed beams and rafters, this forms a very light, sunny and spacious area. The well lit kitchen area is well equipped with painted "shaker style" cupboards housing a stainless steel Baumatic gas hob and electric fan oven, with extractor hood above, stainless steel sink, dishwasher, microwave and larder fridge. A large larder cupboard has an antique wooden plate rack. In a store room adjacent to the cottage is a freezer. Adjacent to the kitchen area are a rectangular old pine wooden table and chairs. Double half glazed doors open on to the courtyard. Outside this door is an old wooden stable door that can either be half or fully open. In the Sitting Area two large comfortable sofas (one is the double sofa bed), a 32" Flat screen TV and a DVD player form a cosy area around the woodburning stove (not shown in photo). This is laid ready for your use and has a plentiful supply of logs and kindling in the trunks on either side. Adjoining the sitting room is a large, carpeted double Bedroom 15ft by 12ft with a 5ft wide bed. There is ample storage space in the large fitted cupboard with hanging space and shelf over and in the pine chest of drawers. Hairdryer. Iron and ironing board. There is a 10cm step down to the en suite bathroom which is reached through the bedroom and is a fully carpeted, spacious and light room with a white suite and attractive Victorian wall tiles. Over the bath is a thermostatic electric shower with a folding shower door. There is a large airing cupboard with hot water cylinder. Another cupboard houses the washer/dryer. There is a welcome cake and a bunch of flowers on your arrival and those who book a seven night stay are supplied with a complimentary bottle of wine The stables and the cottage are separated on one side by a covered gated archway. The open side of the courtyard faces the owner's walled garden. During the summer months, as the cottage faces south, the courtyard forms a sheltered spot for relaxation. There are garden chairs and a table available. The owners are nearby (but far enough away !) to help with any problems/ queries during your stay. If by chance the owners are away you will be informed and there is normally a house sitter who should be able to help. Paxford is situated only 2.5 miles from Chipping Campden. Surrounded by open fields with many public footpaths, this small village will definitely appeal to those who wish for peace and tranquility. The Churchill Arms is within easy walking distance (20 minutes) The nearest railway station is Moreton in Marsh which is on the main line from London Paddington to Worcester which is only 5 miles away. A special note with regards to directions - Do not necessarily rely on computer maps or your sat nav. The owner has supplied the exact location of the property under the special directions section. If you choose to use your sat nav you could be sent down a bumpy back drive or in the case of computer maps/ your sat nav you will arrive at the end of our drive. Look out for the sign that says Brook House/Oak House and turn there across a bridge and straight up our drive. It is really very straightforward.
