Thatched Cottage is situated in a quiet hamlet of Clapton, in an outstanding rural location surrounded by undulating farm and woodland in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A haven for walkers and countryside lovers. Access is from a quite lane to gravelled parking. The Guest Suite is the largest room in the house, and guests will find all they need within including Nespresso machine, kettle, toaster, mini fridge, satellite TV and superfast broadband. Guests are welcome to enjoy the benefits of the beautiful garden with prior consent from the host. The host lives on site in the main house and is available for any questions or suggestions on local walks, transport, shopping or entertainment. If you would like warm croissants delivered to your door for breakfast just let Jenny know the night before. Situated just 2 miles for Kintbury station. The market town of Hungerford, famous for antique shops, pubs and restaurants is 4 miles. Newbury is 4.5 miles with frequent trains to Paddington in 55 mins. For culture lovers the famous Watermill Theatre is also very close (approx 4 miles) with a full calendar of plays, many of which preview here prior to going up to the West End. For countryside lovers there are abundant walks and some lovely local pubs within easy striking distance. We have a local vineyard within walking distance, which is aiming to produce top quality English sparkling wine. Clapton is a small hamlet and there is no public transport serving the area. Kintbury is just 2 miles away with a village store, post office and butchers shop, plus several pubs. The British Rail station is regularly served with trains to London Paddington and the West Country. The Guest Suite is large (24' x 16') with ensuite bathroom & shower room. A super king bed, Egyptian cotton sheets and duvet will provide a comfortable nights’ sleep. Then wake up to stunning views on both sides of the house over open countryside. The bathroom has been tastefully installed and includes a roll top bath, large corner shower and luxurious bath towels. We also include some complimentary bathroom products. The room has Sky TV, wardrobe and a small dining table and two chairs. The dining table doubles as a useful workstation. We have Gigaclear broadband plus iPhone and Ipad charging points in the room.
