Welcome!We love hospitality and are excited to host you at ElKen Retreat in the small, quaint East TX town of Canton!You'll be treated to personalized touches throughout your stay and are sure to walk away with a happy heart because of your experience! This private King suite has a wonderful Serta icomfort bed and a sofa sleeper. 4 can easily sleep here with room for 1 more guest on a comfy rolling bed. This is one of 4 rooms and a large Gathering Place that we offer @ ElKen Retreat! Jason is a Licensed Massage Therapist with his office on our property. Book your spa package during your stay! ($75/hour Added fee- pay after services; not available on Sundays) Check out reviews on Airbnb and on other social platforms under Signature Massage. A delicious breakfast is included, as well! Depending on the day and schedules, options include omelettes (made to order🎉) or egg casserole, homemade biscuits, bacon, gravy(normally served on Saturdays); french toast & sausage (normally served on Sundays); or a continental breakfast(normally muffins and juice served on weekdays). If in a hurry, no worries—we’ll send you off with something yummy! 🙌🏼 We serve breakfast in our dining room or on the back covered porch/pool deck area. If your stay is more than 3 days, we’ll chat about breakfast options on days 4+. We communicate before or during your stay to accommodate our guests as much as possible! Pool and hot tub are just outside your private suite! :) Hot tub is under a covered porch. Hot tub is closed during the summer. Pool and hot tub close at 10pm. We do have a sweet dog- Sadie, our schnauzer and 2 cutie goldendoodle puppies, Hazel and Blair- who may greet you and “talk” occasionally..we quiet them as quickly as we can!! Retreat for the weekend: girls trip, Bible study, scrapbook, quilt, spa, leadership retreats, business retreats. *Retreat pricing is available that would include: *2 night minimum stay *Tell us why you are coming and we'll accommodate (pricing can vary)! Spa can include infrared sauna, massage therapy by licensed massage therapist, hot tub, facials, aromatherapy, saltwater pool. *Use of the Gathering Place - a great room with 3 large tv's, kitchen (rules apply), tables, chairs, relaxing environment, etc...we will accommodate your needs! When you arrive, you'll park on concrete/asphalt, walk through a lovely gate and enter into your own private retreat. Walk around the pool to your room. If weather permits, you can enjoy the pool and hot tub, along with a very large covered back porch with tables and chairs. For a yummy breakfast, you will have the option of times to dine in our home dining room, outside under the covered porch or a simple breakfast in your room. We also live on the property, so if we see you out and about, we'll definitely greet you and see if you need anything! When you are in your room, though, your space will be private and cozy! We will communicate through airbnb or text, if needed. We are conveniently not far from Interstate 20 (between Dallas and Shreveport), but you'll feel as if you are in a nice country environment with large trees and pasture across from our home. A waterfall in the pool will make you feel relaxed. We are very close to Yesterland Farm, First Monday Trade Days, "World Famous" Dairy Palace and so much more! We are Jason & Jennifer Faglie, born and raised in Canton, TX. Jason is a true entrepreneur at heart and visionary using his God given talents as a full time Massage Therapist, fabulous cook for ElKen Retreat and currently finishing the construction on our property! Jennifer is a TCU alumni with a Bachelor of Business degree with majors in Marketing and Management who works as a full time Office Manager in Canton. Together, we have realized our love for people and business which has led to ElKen Retreat! Our kids, Kennedi (16), Landon & Logan (twins, 14) are very involved in the tasks that make ElKen what it is, as well. We are thankful you are considering our property. Our hope is when you stay with us, you'll leave with an overall sense of joy and relaxation from your "retreat" experience. We started ElKen Retreat with the enclosed garage space that is connected to our home. About 5 years ago, we remodeled it, added a closet and bathroom. It was initially Jason's massage office, then our daughter's room and in October of 2018, we decided it was the perfect space for others to enjoy, thus ElKen Retreat was formed! With an exterior door and a solid door that connects to our home, the space is very private and we've seen our guests love it! A couple months later, at the end of 2018, we realized Jason's office (that we built behind our home in 2015) had extra space that we thought guests would also enjoy. So, ElKen Retreat pool house was formed with twin beds, kitchenette, private bathroom and sitting area in the front. We loved this so much, we decided to invest further in ElKen Retreat by adding on a new construction that would complete our back yard (for now!). The new construction has 3 rooms and a Gathering Place. One room is a king suite with a sofa sleeper and 2 rooms have 4 twin beds. We offer the entire property for retreats, such as scrapbooking and quilting, as well as the Gathering Place only for wedding showers, baby showers, graduation celebrations, etc. We are excited to see all of the fun that will soon take place in that space!
