Prime location on the Vaaldam’s edge Sgt Pepper's Guest House is set on the banks of the Vaal Dam in the small town of Oranjeville in the Free State. The property has direct access to the dam with a private slipway where guests can launch their boats. The house can accommodate 10 people, namely 6 adults and 4 children, and comprises 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a guest toilet. The first bedroom contains a double bed. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds. The third bedroom contains 2 single beds. Next to the main bedroom, there is a double sleeper couch and in the living area is 2 single sleeper couches. All linen, towels and toilet paper are provided. The house comprises a kitchen, 2 living areas with TVs and DStv channels, as well as a dining area. The kitchen contains a fridge-freezer, a microwave, a stove, an oven and ample built-in cupboards with crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, bake ware, oven ware, etc. A separate scullery is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, deep freezer and an ice machine. The covered patio is spacious and has a built-in braai and patio furniture. From the patio, guests can enjoy views of the dam. The home is secured with an alarm system. Pets are welcome on prior arrangement. The surrounding area offers fishing, water-sports, kayaking, cycling, and other outdoor sports. Guests have access to the house, private surrounding land and private slipway to launch their boats. The Vaaldam is one of the most popular weekend destinations close to Gauteng. It is located about 145kms south of Johannesburg (approximately 1.5hrs drive). The dam is the 4th largest in South Africa and a favourite place for those in the land-locked provinces to enjoy all kinds of water-sports. The dam was completed in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , and has an island close to Deneysville that is almost 5km long. It is known for hosting many exciting world class sports events, including the famous Around The Island Yacht Race. The Vaaldam's shoreline spans across three provinces (Free state, Gauteng and Mpumalanga). The main activities at the Vaaldam are mainly around water-sports, fishing & outdoor land based activities. There is skiing, jet skiing, wake boarding, rowing, yachting, windsurfing, tubing and canoeing/kayaking. For fishing enthusiasts the dam offers many quiet and secluded spots perfect for an afternoon of fishing. Land based activities extend to motorised and non motorised cycling and/or other outdoor sports. There is a highly recommended butchery & bakery on route (Deneysville) especially for the all important Braai (Barbeque) requirements.
