A double room in family home just outside London
A family home offering a double bedroom with a shared bathroom. Parking available and eighteen minutes walk to the local train station. The train takes 30 minutes into the city of London and many access points along the way to change to the underground system. The London terminal is close to the Tower of London and the Thames river. Lakeside and Bluewater shopping centres are a short distance away by car and can be accessed by bus also. Many great places to visit in Essex. The detached house is in a very quiet residential area in a small town just outside the M25 London Orbital Road. The house is a generous size. Guests will have access to the living room with the TV and the dining room and kitchen. There is a downstairs cloakroom with WC and washbasin. We are happy to socialise with guests when we are at home. We will happily provide advice and guidance on travel in the area and sights to see. Just outside the M25 we are close to Lakeside shopping centre and retail park, where there are also cinemas and restaurants. Rainham Marshes on the banks of the Thames estuary is run by the RSPB and there are many wildlife birds there to watch, plus good walks. Tilbury and Coalhouse Forts are also nearby attractions . Southend is easily accessible by train as is London. We have very easy access by public transport to both Southend and London City Airports. Cars are useful in the area but by no means essential. The bus and rail transport is close to hand and the underground system accessible from Upminster which you can get to by bus or train. Travel into London is by train. Ockendon Station is in the Extended Oyster PAYG (Pay as you go) area. Oyster is an electronic card which can be loaded with money for travel on all London transport vehicles, and it extends beyond London now in many areas for travel on suburban trains. This means that you can use an Oyster card for your travel to Ockendon. Any areas where Oyster can be used you can also use Contactless payment with your Bank card, if it has the contactless payment symbol on it. It costs the same for your journey as an Oyster card. Oyster is the cheapest form of travel in the London area. Oyster and contactless journeys are capped in the amount you can spend in one day, so once you have spent the maximum all other journeys are free. Example Travel costs.
