Empty Nest

Our home is just a few blocks away from Toumey Hospital and downtown Sumter but feels like it is in its own private setting. The property is surrounded by trees with a private back yard in a quiet neighborhood. We are recent empty nesters and live a quiet lifestyle with 4 small dogs. We are usually gone throughout the workweek and home in the evenings. Guests are free to use all areas of the house except the other bedrooms. Guests have a small refrigerator in their room and are welcome to utilize the kitchen to prepare meals. Our only request is that guests clean up after themselves. Many guests like to relax in the back yard. It is a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Guests also have a large TV in their room with downloaded streaming apps (Hulu, Disney, Prime, Netflix). Guests are welcome throughout the house and back yard. The above ground pool is open seasonally. This is our home. We are in and out throughout the day and available by phone, text, and email. We do frequent the kitchen and common areas. We are as socially available as our guests prefer. Some guests are quiet and prefer to keep to themselves, while others share meals and enjoy hanging out together. Our road is situated right off the main road through town and is just a few miles from shopping, dining, Shaw Airforce Base, Swan Lake, and local events. We are right around the corner from Toumey Hospital, downtown Sumter, Riley Field Ballpark, the YMCA, Sumter Opera House, Sumter Little Theatre, artisan shops and small businesses, and Sumter historic district. (Website hidden by Airbnb) Riley Field is within walking distance if you would like to take in a baseball game or shoot around at the basketball court. Downtown Sumter is less than a mile away where you can enjoy The Sumter Museum, Opera House, excellent restaurants (Hampton's, Sidebar, The Original Sumter Brewery, J. O'Grady's, Cutrate), and entertainment. Sumter is about 100 miles from the ocean. Many of our guests take a day or weekend trip to Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Hilton Head, or Savannah. There are also several lakes and state parks within a 45 minute drive for outdoor enthusiasts. Columbia is about 45 minutes away as well to the downtown Five Points district for those who enjoy nightlife activities or would like to attend a USC sporting event.
