Its a little bit quirky but its a home from home!
Our Edwardian home is full of warmth & character. We are close to shops public transport eating places the uni but the avenues area has a relaxed village feel and is a great place to stay. We have a shared bathroom with a shower and a bath which is used by ourselves and other guests. Cyclists may use our shed to safely store their cycles. Our south facing garden has a sunny seating area and a bbq available for guests. Parking is available directly outside the house. we accept kids over 7 yrs Our home has many original features including elaborate molded ceilings, fireplaces and lincrustia in the hallway. The bay windows and front door have beautiful art deco stained glass. Two downstairs rooms and one bedroom have original fireplaces. We think the house has a warm welcoming feel and hope you do too. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen to use the microwave and the dining room for relaxing and eating. Our garden is south facing and has pleasant sunny seating areas which you can use in good weather. We have a couple of chickens Hatty and Henryetta which are fun. My pottery shed is down there too. Our tiny wildlife pond has some frogs. Keep an eye on small children though. I am usually home and enjoy socialising with guests, however they have their own space if they prefer. We are situated in a lovely leafy avenue, close to shops and restaurants. A short walk will take you to Pearson Park which was given to the city by a local Victorian philanthropist call Zacharia Pearson. Known as the peoples park this is a pleasant green space which has been transformed by a 3.5 million pound lottery grant. The Avenues have many properties of historic interest and a number of beautiful mermaid fountains. It will take just over half an hour to walk into town. There is a regular bus service from bay 14 at the bus station where a number 3 bus will take you to Chanterlands Ave which joins our Avenue the sign on the front of the bus will read Orchard Park. Alight at The Pharmacy from where a short walk will bring you to Westbourne Ave. Please note our postal address says Princess Ave however to reach us you need to head for Chanterlands Ave as we are at the opposite end of Westbourne Ave to Princess Ave. We are close to the uni and hospitals. I am a potter and have a very small pottery shed in the garden. If you would like an hours throwing lesson just ask.
