Two Charming Rooms, Central Lewes
Self catering from April 2022 Two quiet double bedrooms (with one as an optional sitting room - when it's a bedroom it has a large sofa bed) in artists townhouse with contemporary interior in the heart of the vibrant and quirky Cliffe area of Lewes. Lovely cafes, antique shops & other eateries nearby. Walking on South Downs direct from house. If you are a single traveller or a couple looking for one room in my house please see my other Airbnb page headed "Quiet Double Bedroom, Central Lewes". You will be staying in my home. The first floor is available for your sole use, although I do need to use the stairs/landing to get to my top floor. All the rooms for your use are adjacent including access to the sun terrace. The shower room is downstairs on the ground floor. Please note the stairway is wooden and quite steep. I have decided to stop offering breakfast at the moment. You may use the kitchen and table to eat your own breakfast that you may wish to bring or I can recommend many gorgeous cafes on the doorstep - all of which have airy outside eating areas. A simple breakfast was previously offered at £5 per person and I may start this again later in the year - do ask! We can negotiate use of the kitchen whilst maintaining COVID-19 social distancing and discuss either before or on your arrival - again please do ask as this is a changing situation. Main bedroom: Good sized, light filled, comfortable and quiet room with double bed. Wardrobe hanging space on landing. Chest of drawers and laptop desk in room and comfortable armchair. Bedroom 2/Sitting Room: including wood burning stove, lots of books for your perusal whilst staying here, wooden shutters at the window, king size Ligne Roset sofa bed. (Please note this bed is quite low). Wardrobe hanging space on landing. If the sofa bed isn't in use there is the option of having a single mattress on the floor for a child over 5. Bath & Shower: On the same floor and adjacent to bedrooms is a bathroom with bath & toilet for the sole use. Shower room/toilet is down stairs in the utility room which I use for laundry only. All bedlinen and towels provided but during COVID-19 I will wash pillows & duvet between each stay. You're very welcome to bring your own pillows/bedding if you wish but please let me know beforehand. Included - WiFi Bathroom (with bath, toilet and basin) and a further Shower room. Sun Terrace on same floor as bedrooms Use of mircrowave in kitchen On request - Kitchen/dining room BREAKFAST - Since COVID-19 I have not been offering breakfast. Sorry about all these extra details but we can discuss when you book. If you wish I can provide a help yourself breakfast of (for example) muesli, fruit, toast, jam, marmalade - eggs etc plus tea or coffee for an additional cost of £5 per person. I could try to access special milks or bread for dietary needs if you let me know in advance. Most people enjoy my breakfasts in front of the wood burner on winter mornings. However, I'm happy for you to go out for breakfast in one of the many great local cafe's right on the door step for a range of cooked breakfasts, pastries, coffee's and cakes. PARKING - Adjacent carparks and on street parking is free of charge in the evenings & overnight (5 pm to 9 am) and all day Sundays. Parking vouchers available from me at a nominal charge for local on street parking during the day. A warm welcome awaits you my home. I'm happy to chat about local area (Lewes, Brighton, Sussex etc) and give advice or recommendations where I can but otherwise I give my guests plenty of privacy, for example, they eat their breakfasts alone. On the nearby Cliffe High Street is Harveys Brewery, the original Bills Restaurant , cafes and antique shops galore and various unique independent shops - great for exploring and finding unusual things to buy! Two saturdays a month there Farmers Markets in the Cliffe area of Lewes. There is access to the Sussex Downs 2 minutes from the house where you can start walks to the villages of Glynde, Firle and beyond. Cycling trails nearby. Lewes golf course is also on the doorstep. The establishments in my 'Airbnb guide book' are all gorgeous and within 5 minutes walk. The Cafe du Jardin ( opposite my house) is a particularly lovely cafe / restaurant located in a 16th century building. A recent addition to Lewes is the award winning independent 3 screen cinema The Depot, located near Lewes station. The house is 8 minutes easy walk from Lewes Station. Brighton is a 15 min train journey, London Victoria is 1 hour. Regular buses also run to Brighton & Tunbridge Wells, in addition regular rural bus routes eg to the beautiful village of Firle & nearby Charleston Farmhouse. Various parking options seconds from the door. Check in time flexible but preferably after 3pm. Check out by 12 noon Please note my house is not equipped for very young children or babies. Rest assured in these COVID-19 times I will be taking extra care to clean and sanitise between stays.
