Grovely Lodge, approached via wrought iron electric gates, was originally built in the 1930's and has been extended over the years. It now offers an incredible 4700sqft of accommodation with 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, tall ceilings, cellar, large carport with countryside views and over 0.5 acre of fully enclosed gardens. Large decking area to the side and rear offering relaxation and al fresco dining. Conveniently situated on the A36 with easy access to the A303. Front porch: Ideal for removing muddy wellies/walking boots. Hallway: Large open entrance hall with doorways to drawing room, dining room, kitchen, cellar, inner hallway and stairs to first floor. Drawing room: Double doors open into this spacious room with high ceilings offering two seating areas, woodburning stove, football table, large flat screen TV/Sky/Netflix/Prime/Disney+ and french doors to decking area. Dining room: Double doors into grand oak panelled formal dining area with high ceiling, real flame open gas fire and table to seat 16. Kitchen & breakfast room: Oval glass table to seat 8 and centre island with 2 bar stools, double fridges/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, 6 ring burner and high level oven. Doorway through to inner hallway , cloakroom and back door. Cellar: Steps down into boiler room with a doorway through to the utility room housing the washing machine and tumble dryer. First floor landing: With stairs leading up to the second floor and doors to 5 bedrooms and separate bathroom. Master suite: French doors opening on to private balcony with lovely views, this large room has a seating area, king size bed with a large ensuite (his/her sinks, bath, shower, WC), TV/Netflix/Prime etc Bedroom 2: Large room with double bed, TV/Sky/Netflix/Prime/Disney+ with door leading into Jack & Jill bathroom (two sinks, shower, bath, WC). Bedroom 3: Large room with double bed, TV/Sky/Netflix/Prime/Disney+, french doors to small balcony and door leading into Jack & Jill bathroom (two sinks, shower, bath, WC). Bedroom 4: Large room with four poster double bed and french doors to small balcony. Bedroom 5/Music room: Smallest bedroom with double bed. Bathroom: Sink, shower, WC. Second floor landing: 2nd 'lounge' area with sofa and TV/Sky/Netflix/Prime/Disney+. Doors to 2 further bedrooms. Bedroom 6: King size bed, ensuite with bath, sink and WC. Bedroom 7: King size bed, seating area, ensuite with bath, sink and WC. Additional sleeping arrangements: Should you need to accommodate more than 14 guests, 4 further beds can be provided. Folding single beds, for adults of older children, or handmade indoor A frame tents, inflatable mattress, bedding, fairy lights, etc; (for smaller children) Outside: Covered carport to accommodate 4 cars with further parking available. The house is situated in the middle of its land, mainly laid to lawn with fully established trees and shrubs. Block paving from the driveway to the front door with steps leading down to the front garden with further block paved seating area. A path leads to the side of the house, past a 5m round, heated above ground pool (seasonal - April to October), with steps up to the raised decking area with large table/chairs, BBQ kitchen/garden bar and outdoor rattan furniture. The deck continues around the back of the house with further steps leading down to the rear lawn. The whole house will be available to our guests, apart from the office, which is situated in the North East corner of the ground floor. Although we will not be available in person, guests will be able to contact us during their stay and alternative telephone numbers will also be provided should they not be able to contact us. We are close to Stonehenge, Longleat House & Safari Park and the beautiful cities of Salisbury and Bath. Wylye has a local shop/post office and a delightful pub, The Bell Inn; offering local ales and good food at very reasonable prices. There are many village pubs around the area, all of which offer good food and friendly staff. We can highly recommend 'Wiltshires best!' Indian restaurant and takeaway; Toran. They are only 5 minutes away. Shopping: You are welcome to book grocery deliveries; Tesco or Sainsbury's are the only supermarkets that deliver here. Alternatively, there is a local Budgens 5 minutes away, towards Warminster, along with a petrol station. Travel time to places to visit: 5 minutes - Langford fishing lakes 10 minutes - Stonehenge, Woodhenge, Salisbury Plain 15 minutes - Warminster Town 15 minutes - Cholderton Charlie's farm 20 minutes - Longleat Safari Park 20 minutes - Salisbury Cathedral 20 minutes - Fovant Badges 25 minutes - The Hawk Conservancy 25 minutes - Stourhead House & Gardens 30 minutes - Devizes Town 40 minutes - City of Bath 45 minutes - New Forest National Park 55 minutes - Dorset Coast There is a bus-stop to Salisbury or Warminster just a short walk from the house. Salisbury rail link to London Waterloo is only 1.5 hours. A MAXIMUM of 18 guests in our home. No additional guests; whether visiting or staying the night. We have 7 King/Double beds to sleep 14 people. We also have an additional 4 folding single beds; which we can provide upon request. Do not exceed this number (no extra guests sleeping on sofas or on their own inflatable beds) Grovely Lodge is situated adjacent to the A36 so there is an element of road noise.
