Phil's Cottage is a beautiful one bedroom stone cottage with stunning countryside views. The cottage is a recently refurbished barn conversion ideally located just 2 miles from the historic market town of Barnard Castle. The property offers plenty of private parking, garden and outdoor seating area to the front and pretty courtyard to the rear with outdoor seating and dining area. The outdoor areas are secure and ideal for dogs. Dogs are subject to an additional £20 per stay. Maximum one dog. Phil's Cottage is a self contained one bedroom barn conversion next to the main farm house. The property is two story. The ground floor is open plan and comprises of a well equipped kitchen, dining area, log burner and lounge area with a television. The upper level offers an en-suite and bedroom with a king sized bed (can be made into 2 single beds on request - please let us know if this is your preferred arrangement). The en-suite has both bath and shower facilities. A pull-out bed is also available on request for a third guest. Stepping outside, you can relax in the garden area over looking the fields or in the pretty courtyard to the rear of the cottage. We have an identical cottage which shares the courtyard area. We have a barbecue which is available on request. You are also invited to share and explore the 25 acres of surrounding land which are home to the owners' chickens, sheep and horses. We also have a beautiful pond which attracts a range of wildlife. It is a short walk from the cottage and is a lovely peaceful area to relax. Phil's Cottage is ideally located just 2 miles from the historic market town of Barnard Castle. It has a unique charm with its cobbled streets, quaint alleyways and rich history. Some of its tourist hotspots include the dramatic castle, the Market Cross and the Bowes Museum. Barnard Castle is also a haven for shoppers and treasure seekers with its many antique shops and independent retailers providing a unique shopping experience. Nearby places to visit include: Egglestone Hall Gardens also known as the Secret Garden of the North, Raby Castle and High Force. It is also the perfect base for exploring the great outdoors and experiencing the beauty of the surrounding countryside, including Teesdale, Weardale and the Durham Dales. There are walking and cycling opportunities galore! Some of our favourite spots to visit include High Force and Low Force, Raby Castle and Egglestone Abbey.
