Thatched cottage (1650), well located (sea/A'dam)

Welcome to our charming thatched farm house anno 1650. The house is fully detached and situated on an old cheese farm. With a spacious living, kitchen, bedroom and authentic attic, the house accommodates (2) couples and families children. Situated along the hiking path 'Grote Polderpad', you can visit wind mills, spot waterbirds, and enjoy the lovely alpaca's at our farm. The house is ideally located for day trips to the beach, Leiden, Amsterdam, Keukenhof, The Hague, Kinderdijk, etc. The house has plenty of original details such as a thatched roof, special design brick walls, and thick wooden attic beams. The total house area is approximately 85 m2 (excluding the attic rooms), divided in a spacious living, hall/kitchen, bathroom with bath/shower, sink and toilet, and a ground floor bedroom with a double Pullman boxspring. The garden door can be opened to your convenience, so as to hear the birds singing or the breeze through the trees. The attic has two bedrooms (with limited standing height), a lovely authentic sleeping place for older children. It is noted that the stairs are pretty steep and without hand rail (see one of the pictures). Therefore, the attic is not suited for very young children. We can always place one or even two bed(s) downstairs if more convenient. For your convenience, we have installed a washing machine. The house is fully detached. The garden is partly separated from the main farmhouse, with sufficient privacy and a place to sit outside. For bird lovers: the garden includes a small nature reserve - supply wood island with old ash and willow trees - which will give you the opportunity to spot a variety of special birds. For the children, we have a large trampoline that can be used, and there is a basketbal bucket. We will be able to explain to you where to find still functioning cheese factory farms in the neighborhood, windmills, or advice lovely cycle and walking/hiking paths. We can give directions to good beach spots. Also, we can give tips on easy and cheap parking locations and good restaurants in Amsterdam, The Hague, and Leiden. The summerhouse is very centrally situated, 500m from the highway between The Hague and Amsterdam. We live very close to Leiden centre (4km), the beach (12km), Keukenhof (20km), Amsterdam (40 km), Gouda (25 km), and Delft (25km). At the same time, the house is situated along the hiking path 'Grote Polderpad', a great place for nature lovers. Also for cyclists, there are many and diverse routes to take. It is a 5 minutes walk to the bus 400 that goes to Leiden Centre/Central Station or alternatively to Zoetermeer. One can buy a ticket in de bus.
