Built over 100 years ago as a chicken hatchery, this gorgeous little gem has been fully restored as a two-story guest cottage. Located in New Paltz just minutes off Exit 18 on I-87 in a very private, quiet, country setting. Only ten minutes from New Paltz Village & SUNY New Paltz and set back on a lightly traveled road for those long summer strolls. You don't even need a car to get here! It's just 12 minutes by taxi from the New Paltz Bus Station or bring your bike up and cycle everywhere! The Little Yellow Cottage displays much of it's original construction including post and beam, stained glass in the cupola (even an original stained glass portrait of Abraham Lincoln!) and a screened in porch for breakfast with a view or just hanging out. Inside you’ll find a spiral staircase and all the 21st century amenities you’d expect, including radiant in-floor heat, AC, TV, wi-fi and laundry in the full kitchen (Note: there is a stovetop but no oven). One queen bed sleeps two on the ground level and one Murphy bed sleeps a single on the lower level. Private picnic table right outside. And the postal code may say Highland, but the Little Yellow Cottage is really in New Paltz! Guests will have access to the property around the Little Yellow Cottage. Check out the funky art hub of New Paltz or SUNY New Paltz just 10 minutes away or climb the Shawanagunk Mountains 15 minutes away. You don’t even need a car! Bring your bike up on the bus or train and take a taxi ($12) to the Little Yellow Cottage. Cycle the 20 minutes into New Paltz or even spend a day on the Hudson Valley Rail Trail also just 20 minutes away. Talk a long walk on a quiet country road and snap a selfie at the tranquil Black Creek just a minute away. Car or bike, there are also several taxi companies in New Paltz.
