Slatters Cottage is a luxury, Grade II listed, 17th century self-catering cottage in the heart of the North Cotswolds providing easy access to the local Cotwold towns, villages and tourist attractions. Set in a quiet street in a typical Cotswolds village, Slatters Cottage is a quintessential English country cottage which provides a perfect place to relax and unwind. With inglenook fireplace and log burning stove, the cottage has views over the award winning village of Bourton-on-the-Hill. Our guests have access to the whole property to themselves which includes - downstairs open plan living, dining and kitchen area with large inglenook fireplace and log burner. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. Outside there is a private garden, utility room with washing machine and dryer and a private parking space. Guests have full access to the whole property which has it's own private entrance, garden and private parking space immediately infront of the cottage. The cottage owners are available by phone/ email if required. Bourton-on-the-Hill is a small village about 2 miles (3 km) west of Moreton-in-Marsh and is in the heart of the North Cotswolds making all the local towns, villages and tourist attractions of the Cotswolds easily accessible. The village overlooks the surrounding hills of the Cotswolds and lies on the Heart of England Way walking route, which heads southwards to Bourton-on-the-Water and northwards to Cannock Chase. The village is also connected by a footpath to the Cotswold Way, via Blockley and Chipping Camden. Bourton on the Hill has an award winning gastro pub a few moments walk from the cottage - the Horse and Groom, booking is recommended. The village church is Grade I listed. The nearest shops and supermarkets can be found in Moreton in Marsh. There are an abundance of quintessential Cotswold villages and towns within easy reach of the cottage including: Upper Slaughter, Lower Slaughter, Broadway, Snowshill, Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water. Bourton on the Hill is approximately 2 miles, a short taxi ride/ bus ride, from Moreton in Marsh where there is a train station with a direct line to London. Whilst it is possible to visit the local area using public transport (the train in Moreton in Marsh and local buses), the Cotswolds is a rural area that is best enjoyed by car. A private parking space is provided immediately in front of the cottage. Rental Periods During peak holiday periods our minimum booking is 7 nights. Outside of these times our minimum rental is 3 nights. We will favour longer bookings due to the increased cleaning costs as a result of COVID so please understand if we turn down your booking for this reason. We would request that: - 7 night stays start on a Friday or Saturday - 3 night stays start on a Friday or Tuesday - 4 night stays start on a Friday or Monday - 5 nights stays start on a Friday We are unable take bookings that start or end on a Sunday or UK Public holiday as we are unable to change over the cottage on those days. Our Christmas and New Year breaks are broken into two parts. For Christmas 2021 we will accept a 7 night stay that arrives on 22nd/ 23rd Dec (or earlier) and departs 29th/ 30th Dec. The New Years stay will then arrive on the 27/ 30th for 7 nights minimum. Other things to note We are in the heart of the village of Bourton on the Hill and close to the Grade 1 listed church. The church clock chimes reassuringly in the distance every 15 min. Internet access is provided free of charge and is unlimited however we are in a rural location and off the main roads and therefore dependent on the service that BT are able to deliver to us via ADSL. We provide a welcome basket of logs during the winter months.
