Self-contained annex near Cambridge & Addenbrookes
Beautifully-decorated and stylish self-contained annex in South Cambridge, with sleeping and living area (including kitchen) plus a separate bathroom. Giving you complete independence, the annex has separate access from the main house plus off-road parking. You'll have access to the family garden which has stunning views. You’ll feel like you’re in a peaceful country hideaway whilst also being very well-located for access to central Cambridge, Addenbrookes Hospital, Genome and Babraham Campuses. Inside the annex it’s light and airy and also peaceful and cosy. The living area includes a Swedish-style queen-size double bed, modern vertical and blackout blinds, a small hanging wardrobe for your clothes plus further storage space within the bed frame. Bed linen and towels are provided. The super mini-kitchen comprises a combination oven, integrated fridge and double hob plus kettle, toaster and all kitchen utensils. In the bathroom, you’ll find a powerful electric shower, heated towel rail, WC and hand basin with integrated cabinet. The annex has 22" Full HD Smart LED TV and fast speed Wi-fi plus a good-size table at which you can enjoy meals as well as work/study. There is no washing machine in the annex but our guests are welcome to use the washing machine in the main house. You will have access to the outdoor seating area in the rear garden, which offers stunning views over the Cambridgeshire countryside. The total area of the annex is above 13 m2. The annex is completely self-contained with a separate front door from the main house. Access to the garden with stunning views of the countryside is via a side gate. We are taking additional and enhanced cleaning measures to protect our guests from Covid-19. We ensure that: - air filtered and cleaned by a top of the range air purifier before our guests arrive. - the room is deep-cleaned and sanitised in between guests using disinfectant and sanitiser solutions which meet EC Standards. - all used linen is washed at the highest heat setting recommended. - we practise social distancing with our guests - self check-in and checkout is available to minimise person-to-person contact. Our guest room is located in a safe, quiet and friendly neighbourhood. Sawston is a beautiful village in South Cambridgeshire, just 6 ½ miles away from the centre of Cambridge. The village offers supermarkets, restaurants and takeaways, two churches, a post office, heath centre and four public houses, all within walking distance. The annex is well-located for multiple key locations in Cambridge. Addenbrookes Hospital - 10 to 15 minutes drive by car. Genome Campus - 10-15 minutes by car Babraham Research Campus - 5 minutes by car or 30 minutes by foot! Whittlesford Train Station (Direct train to London Liverpool Street)- 5 minutes by car Great Shelford Train Station (Direct train to London Kings Cross) - 5 minutes by car For access to Cambridge via public transport there is a Citi 7 bus service which takes approximately 30 minutes (with bus stop within 5 minutes’ walking distance). If you prefer to drive, the journey takes about 20 minutes by car and there are numerous taxi services available (priced at around £18). A regular train service operates from nearby Shelford and Whittlesford stations into Cambridge (plus Ely, Peterborough) and also into central London (between 45 mins and 1 hr, 15 mins). For lovers of the countryside and walking, we’d recommend a visit to nearby Wandlebury Country Park (including Roman Way walk), a meander through Grantchester Meadows or a stroll along the River Cam. Covid-19 precautions All household members are fully jabbed for Covid 19. We pay detailed attention to keep our guests and ourselves safe from Covid. Other We have a very friendly cat living in the main house but she doesn't go in the annex. You may come across her when you are sitting in the garden and she is coming back from a trip to the fields. :)
