Beautiful barn cottage in a village near Stamford

Welcome to our gorgeous cottage, perfect for a country stay and to experience the beautiful historic town of Stamford. Part of a converted 18th century barn with plenty of outdoor space and comfortable, charismatic accommodation you will feel at home here. The cottage is 2 miles from Stamford set in the village of Uffington. You will have everything you need in the cottage, a supermarket with 1.5 miles and the local pub is a short stroll away. Guests will have the whole cottage including use of an enclosed garden to the front with outdoor table and chairs and BBQ, and a courtyard to the rear great for alfresco breakfast. There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, downstairs is the lounge/diner and a well equipped kitchen. The sofa in the lounge can be turned into a bed in the case of emergency extra guests! There is a smart TV with DVD player. Please note that towels are not included in your booking, they can be provided upon request at an extra £10 per stay to cover cleaning costs. All other linen is provided. We do not live locally to the property but are always available on the phone to assist with anything. Our cottage is in the lovely village of Uffington which is just on the parameter of Stamford town centre. It is a true village with a lovely welcoming pub 'The Bertie Arms' within stumbling distance. The incredible Burghley House is close by in Stamford where the world famous Burghley Horse Trials is held. It is open to the public to walk the grounds, visit the gardens of surprise and hold many events. Rutland water is close by. You will be spoilt for choice on stunning locations to visit and family days out. There is a bus stop at the end of the drive which will take you straight into Stamford. Stamford is a stunning historic market town with a wealth of pubs, restaurants and shops for every taste and budget. You will be awed by the local architecture, there is so much to do and so many places to visit for all ages. Morrisons is a short drive away with a fuel station. It can be walked (1.5 miles) or reached by the same bus that will take you into Stamford. We have parking for 3 cars but if you would like to leave your car there is a bus stop at the end of the drive taking you straight into Stamford town. Stamford has a train station and from Stamford town you can easily travel to Oakham, Peterborough, Lincoln, Grantham and other larger towns/cities by train or bus. This is a self catering cottage that we use ourselves when we come up to the area. There will be tea, coffee and basic cooking supplies you are welcome to use but I'm afraid no fresh products. Morrisons supermarket is a very short drive away and there is also a petrol station close by for supplies if Morrisons is shut.
