Please note Heidi's Café is closed on Mondays and during festive season - usually between 23 Dec - 15 January We like to give our guests as much privacy as possible, but our friendly Reception staff are available between 6am to 10pm each day to assist you with anything you need. The Bluff is a lovely suburb just south of Durban with a fantastic, laid back seaside holiday feel. Durban city centre, the International Convention Centre (ICC), Sports Stadiums and Ushaka Marine World, all major hospitals, are within a 15 km radius. Business guests are in close proximity to Jacobs, Durban CBD, Bayhead (shipping and logistics companies), Transnet, Portnet, Engen, Mondi and Prospecton (Toyota etc) Drakensberg Heritage Site, St Lucia and Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve, Midlands Meander, Nelson Mandela Capture Site, Inanda Heritage Route are all within a 1-3 hour drive from here. It is a great place to base yourself while doing many day trips – either to the south or to the game parks up north. We love that we are so close to the city, yet far enough away to live in and experience our beautiful natural coastline - no concrete jungle! Monkeys, mongoose, birds and even blue duiker are often seen on our property. 3 shopping centers all close by, and the large Gateway, Galleria and Pavillion malls are all within easy distance. Golf course within walking distance. The great thing about where we are situated is that we are close enough to the city so that you can come back after a busy day and go for a late afternoon swim in the sea or walk on the beach and explore the many rock pools, particularly at low tide when the rock pools are exposed, or relax by the poolside in our tropical garden. The sunrises here are amazing – there is nothing better than arming yourself with a steaming cup of coffee or tea in the morning and sit on the bench in the garden to watch the sun rise over the sea. Playful dolphins and whales are a regular sight here at Ansteys. Our beaches are lifeguard protected and there are shark nets. We love it here and we are sure you will too! We do have regular shuttle/transfer services for our guests at very competitive rates, and Uber is also often used by our guests Our friendly reception staff down the road can assist you with great car hire deals, shuttles/transfers or daytime activities, so please ask if you need more info - they are here to help you! It is recommended that you have your own transport, but there is a municipal bus service (though not always reliable). All guests are required to check in at Reception on arrival and sign an indemnity form (a requirement from our Insurers). A Breakage and Disturbance deposit is payable in cash on arrival. This will be refunded provided all our Terms and Conditions have been met and will be done via EFT within 3-5 days after departure or in cash if you are not a South African citizen and do not have a South African banking account. Our on-site bar and shop at Ansteys Backpackers reception 3 houses down the road stocks and sells beers, ciders, wine, milk (long life), chocolates, crisps, cool drinks (sodas), water, soap etc Should you have any questions during your stay, our friendly reception staff will be on hand between 6am to 10pm each day.
