The Hayloft at Logmore Farm
The Hayloft at Logmore Farm looks across fields to the wooded slopes of the Surrey Hills. It's a magical setting where you are surrounded by the natural world, and the soothing songs of birds. Wake up to the sights and sounds of horses grazing under the ancient oak tree in the fields beyond, or the call of a heron descending slowly and gracefully to its stand on the nearby pond. A newly converted farm building, the Hayloft has a compact open-plan kitchen and living room, and a stair-ladder to the sleeping space in the loft. It is full of rustic idiosyncratic charm; combining stripped wooden floors, rugs and a comfy leather sofa, with panelled walls and vaulted ceiling, the Hayloft is an unmissable experience. Sleep in the loft upstairs or get comfy for the night on the sofa bed. Logmore Farm is home to horses, ponies and sheep as well as a flock of doves, call ducks and refugee pheasant. We have our own well and spring water and aim to be an eco-farm in every way we can. Logmore Farm lies on the slopes of the Surrey Hills, and it's great walking country. A gate and a bridleway takes you up to the area known locally as the 'Gallops' where in the past they trained racehorses, then leads on to Wolvens Lane. Lined with ancient Beech trees and now a popular trail for walkers and horseriders., this is the medieval thoroughfare that connected the old villages of Wotton and Coldharbour. Walk to local pubs like the Wotton Hatch or The Plough at Colhardbour, the Abinger Hatch in Abinger or the Stephen Langton at Friday Street. All have great food and a welcoming country atmosphere. Or drive the short distance to Dorking, Shere or Guildford. The ever popular Leith Hill tower, Denbies Vineyard and the gardens at Polesden Lacey are all within easy reach. Dorking Station is just five minutes drive, and there are lots of taxis throughout the day and well into the night.
