Beautiful, elegantly understated new farm house. The serenity of the outdoors, the awe of wild life and the glint of sun off the trout dams from the home nestled in a lush indigenous garden. Drink red wine around a stone fire place, bathe under the stars, swim, relax or brave the best mountain bike single-track in the country. Soak in the experience of textured woods, stone, glass and space. We invite you to ‘feel’ alive & rejuvenated. Conveniently located to private schools & wedding venues. The home is fabulously inviting with loads of comfortable oversized couches (3 areas inside, 2 areas outside) well designed for great conversations. The open lounge, dining and kitchen invite fun entertaining. Enjoy the roaring log fire in winter, lizard in the sun lounge or plunge two steps to the swimming pool on a hot day, where, when doors are open, invite the garden "in." On the other side of the living area all stack back doors open onto magnificent views overlooking the trout dams. For the energetic there’s a private gym with stepper, power plate, yoga swing and mats. Then there is trout fishing .. five minute walk. While you soak in the view you may be lucky and have the zebra, eland or impala visit on the front lawn. There is a separate TV area and veranda with plenty of space including a gas braai unit. The kitchen is well equipped with mod cons and state of the art coffee machine. Upstairs all three bedrooms have magnificent views of the dams. Two of the rooms have double beds with a shared full bathroom. While the main bedroom has a king size bed and an en-suite bath. Downstairs, separate from the main house, is a guest bedroom, king size bed en-suite bathroom with a Victorian claw bath outside in an enclosed garden. The home is surrounded by a beautiful indigenous garden lush in summer and textured in winter. Driving into the home is like entering a secluded world of tranquillity and stillness. If you love music and need a bit of ’vibe’, tap the on- line state of the art Sonos music system to set your mood. Not that it is necessary in this area, but for those worried about safety the house is alarmed with armed response and for night time the upstairs bedrooms are totally secured by a very neat roll down security gate. Nkosinathi (Nutty for short) will make sure you are comfortable, service the home, makes a great cuppa chino, delicious home-made granola, cookies and basic breakfast on request. Access to basics in the kitchen is on a trust basis that you replace what you use like for like from Woolworths. You will be able to access the entire property with the exception of a separate cottage that is closed off and uninhabited. You are able to traverse the entire estate and permission for you to mountain bike on friends farms can be arranged. There is covered parking for two cars and plenty of space for others. While we wont be available in person - we love to connect with travelers and very happy to guide you with what the 'do's' and 'dont's' are about travelling in our area. We also find international guests inspiring so always keen to provide tips regarding visiting this beautiful country. Bring on the questions! Nottingham Road is a little heaven nestled in the foot of the Drakensburg. The people are down to earth and friendly with loads of little quirky, cute coffee shops. Right on the Midlands Meander .. so plenty of interesting places to visit. We sport the oldest pub in the province the famous Notts Hotel, have fabulous zip lining close by and the famous All Out Adventures just 1 hour away. To get to our home you will need a car. We are 2km from the highway so easy access - but note the road is dirt. The pool does not have a cover so make sure your kids can swim and are not at risk in this regard. The House is on a Wild Life Estate secured by a game fence to keep the wild life in. There are Zebra, Eland, Wildebeest, Impala, several different species of antelope, wild pig, serval and jackal. You are safe to walk around the Estate - because the animals are wild they do run away. Please don't provoke them! This is the countryside so know there will be the usual country smells and the occasional bug, mouse, dust in winter, and mud in summer! Lastly we have a Netflex but no DSTV
