The Bohemian Blue Hut "down by the river"

Zen out and kick back, and let the stresses of life float off down stream at this idyllic, romantic location, right next to the river. With no wifi or tv you can forget about the rat race and take time out to get to know each other again, or indeed yourself! So why not escape to the country, dangle your feet in the crystal clear chalk river and listen to the wind in the willows. The Bohemian Blue Hut has taken us over a year to hand build, and to source the interior furnishing; a labour of love to create unique ambiance for relaxation and stopping the clock. We would like to share this secluded spot at the bottom of our garden with you. The hut is fully insulated, and double glazed, with a complimentary basket of logs for the wood burner (more can be bought from local shops), which will keep you nice and toasty on colder days, while you chill out, read or play with the wooden board games. The double Edwardian bed has been extended for those tall people, and with its comfy mattress and several duvets you snuggle and watch the sunlight of the river dance on the ceiling above your head. The hut is connected to mains water and electricity, with a kitchenette providing induction hob, combined oven/microwave, fridge and sink for all your cooking needs. A door leads to the ensuite shower, washbasin and wc. The outside area is south facing where you can relax in the afternoon sunshine whilst watching the Barn Owls quartering the water meadow, or the flash of the Kingfisher along the river. With steps down to the river side, soak up the evening rays in comfy chairs while enjoying your sundowners. There is a Weber barbecue if you like some outdoor cooking, for this you will need your own charcoal. The wiggle path to the hut can be lumpy if the moles have been active, so do wear sturdy footwear for the country, especially if it has been raining. We will supply you with a purple wheelbarrow to carry your bags from your parked car to the hut. Leading from the parking space, access to the property is via a wiggly path over a wooden bridge. The hut is screened off for total privacy with outside lighting surrounding the hut. Outside the front of the shepherds hut there is a bench with comfy cushions. On a hard standing surface surrounded by mature trees and wild flowers there sits a large table and chairs for eating outside next to the barbecue area. Wooden steps lead to a seating area down by the riverside. We are available by phone or email to make arrangements and meet you when possible. Located in rural East Barsham, this is a wonderful location for wildlife and bird watching, where you can experience the big skies of Norfolk and some fantastic walks. A seven minute walk will take you to the Barsham Arms, our local gastropub that offers a well presented and varied menu. A similar drive time will lead you to the market town of Fakenham for all other amenities. Thursday is market and auction day and there is a farmers market the first Saturday of every month. We are about six miles away from Wells Next to the Sea on the North Norfolk coast, and a drive along the coast road will take you past some areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have two wonderful nature reserves; Pensthorpe Natural Park and Sculthorpe Moor on our doorstep as well as a number of public bridleways and foot paths. At the end of the lane is a bus stop to pick up the Coastal Hopper bus which will take you along the North Norfolk Coast line, if you prefer not to drive.
