Lime Tree Barn is located in Thurston, four miles from the historic and beautiful market town of Bury St. Edmunds. Two miles from access to the A14 and a few hundred yards from the Train Station which has a direct line to Bury, Cambridge and London. The Barn Annex facilities have been fitted to a high quality to create a relaxing and comfortable environment for you to enjoy during your stay , consisting of a large bedroom, en-suite shower room and kitchen. The stylishly designed kitchen includes utensils, toaster, kettle, illy coffee machine, cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, iron and ironing board. The elegant en-suite offers a large walk-in shower, toilet and basin. Towels and complimentary toiletries are provided, together with a hair drier. The bedroom offers a comfortable king size oak sleigh bed with bedlinen, wardrobe, dressing table and relaxing seating area. A 32” Smart Television is provided together with free wi-fi. Outside the patio doors is a seating area providing furniture for dining alfresco or simply relaxing when the weather allows. Karen and Mark would like to welcome you to Lime Tree Barn. Mark, an Architectural Technologist, designed and managed the building of Lime Tree Barn in 2018. The project had been a life-long ambition of Marks, after many years of designing properties for his clients. Karen, a Complementary Therapist and Tutor of Complementary Therapies, runs the Therapy Room. The Therapy Room is located on the premises and offers a wide variety of both beauty and relaxation treatments. During your stay should you need anything or have any questions please come to the front door and knock, we will do our best to assist. We both work from home and at least one of us is usually available. Thurston village has a local pub, Co op shop, post office, garage, hairdresser, barbers, Oh Crumbs Sandwich Bar (delicious freshly made sandwichs) where you can sit in and take-away, coffee shop with amazing crepes, fish & chip shop and train station. The surrounding area also offers excellent pubs, restaurants and country walks. There are also many cycle routes to explore with cycle route 51 passing through the village. Local public houses and restaurants include, the Thurston Fox and Hounds, a friendly local pub, offering good quality pub food and only a ten minute walk away. The Beyton Bear, Norton Dog and Pakenham Fox, all a five minute car-ride away, where they serve a good choice of high quality cuisine. For fine dining locally, we recommend the Ravenwood Hotel at Rougham. Set in an idyllic country estate, only a five minute drive away and well worth the visit. The historic market town Bury St. Edmunds is a ten minute car-ride away. Or, hop on the train at Thurston Station. The town is large and is an excellent tourist destination with the renowned Abbey Gardens a must. Also offering a great shopping experience with a department store, many well-known supermarkets, high street shops and dining facilities. Along with, an array of unique and individual shops and restaurants – something for everyone.
