The Nestbox - Country Cabin With Outdoor Bath
The Nestbox is a rustic cabin just for two located on our farm. Mainly open plan inside the carefully chosen vintage and upcycled furniture coupled with modern kitchen and high quality finishing touches make this a great place to stay. Lots to discover in the area; close to Fountains Abbey World Heritage Site, historic houses, gardens, walk, cycle or take a drive in nearby Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Dales, Ripon 3 miles, Harrogate 11 miles. Excellent choice of places to eat nearby. The Nestbox is a cabin 28ft long and 12 ft wide and we designed the space to be open plan, apart from the small bathroom, which has a large walk in shower, toilet and washbasin. Character and style set the tone inside; an old church pew is now a corner dining seat and a wonderful vintage king size bed promises a restful sleep. The kitchen is modern, well equipped and incorporates a full size oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge with small freezer compartment. Outside along the half covered walk way there is a bench which came from a WW2 army lorry. The walkway leads on to the front deck where you can soak away your stresses and strains in a luxurious copper bath, or relax in comfortable patio furniture and enjoy the outside space, views over fields, with hens, cows and sheep for company. Three steps lead down to a gravel area and fire pit - one basket of logs, sticks and fire lighters free, thereafter £10 for refill (cash please). Free car parking for one car. No public transport so you do need a car and/or a bike to get around and about. We have a place where bikes can be put undercover. As we farm and also run a farmhouse B&B we are usually around and about should you need us. We are friendly and approachable and always happy to help if there's a problem or if you would like some local knowledge, but we won't intrude on your privacy. We are half a mile from Fountains Abbey World Heritage Site. Historic houses, beautiful gardens, take a walk, drive or cycle in the Yorkshire Dales, visit the market on Ripon square every Thursday. Masham, famous for Theakstons and Black Sheep Breweries, Pateley Bridge with quaint little shops and rural craft both a short drive. We are a rural location and you really need a car or a bike if you are planning to go out and about to explore the area as public transport is infrequent at best. We are 3 miles from Ripon and shops/market for supplies. Lots of information about places to visit, places to visit, maps and guides for you to browse through. We prefer guests not to check in on Saturdays or Sundays as this is easier for us to manage. However, if a Saturday or Sunday arrival is the only option for you, then please send us an enquiry via AirBnB and we'll do our best to help. A small supply of complimentary tea and coffee provided. There will be a pint of milk in the fridge and half a dozen eggs from our own free range hens ready for your arrival.
