Well-situated ground-floor apartment in the heart of the beautiful market town of Peebles on the historic Northgate. The property is ideally located to explore the area on foot; from browsing the great range of independent shops on the High Street to hiking or biking in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Edinburgh is less than an hour away by public transport for a city day out. Ideal for 1-4 guests and up to two well-behaved dogs. The apartment is in the centre of Peebles on the Northgate - great pubs, restaurants and shops are all within five minutes' walk as is the main bus stop with access to Edinburgh and Melrose. There is a smallish Sainsbury's opposite the property which is incredibly handy. Glentress and Innerleithen forests with their popular mountain-bike trails are within ten minutes' drive (or you can take your bike on the bus). The apartment really is brilliantly-located to enjoy all that the bustling town of Peebles has to offer. Furnishings are excellent quality and chosen with your comfort in mind. Twin bedroom. King bedroom. Lounge diner with smart TV and recliner sofa. Kitchen with fridge (small freezer compartment at the top), microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher. *Please note, there is no washing-machine, but there is a launderette further down the Northgate which is very reasonable in price. WiFi is included and we provide a welcome pack on your arrival to help you feel at home. Travel cot and high chair are available. Up to two well-behaved dogs are allowed. Peebles is a destination town, popular for its beautiful location, great access to walking, fishing, biking and also for its history and culture. Peebles has some wonderful places to eat and drink, a thriving local farmer-style market on Saturdays and a fantastic range of independent shops - from shoes and clothing, to quality gifts, wine, crafts, furnishing, design and wellness. Not to mention boasting its own Eastgate Theatre, a number of art galleries and a couple of great bookshops. The small, but perfectly-formed John Buchan museum is just off the High Street and is full of interest and detail. You may wish to see the historic Neidpath Castle, the Cross Kirk, beautiful Dawyk Botanic Gardens or Kailzie Gardens. Beautiful Melrose is less than an hour away by car or bus. If you fancy a little more luxury during your stay, you could book into the award-winning Stobo Castle spa which is less than fifteen minutes' drive away, head off to the Hydro Hotel Gin School or book an appointment with one of the many beauty salons, alternative therapists or other wellness therapists located in the town. For those with small children, with mobility concerns or travelling by public transport, the apartment location is ideal. It is on the ground-floor and in the centre of the town; everything you need is close by. Edinburgh is 50 minutes' drive by car, an hour by bus. The bus service is frequent and runs from the Eastgate stop just up the road from the apartment. From Edinburgh you can access rail travel (Glasgow is around 30-45 minutes by rail from Edinburgh). Walks around the Peebles area are numerous: WalkHighlands says they are some of the best in the rolling Border country. Why not try the John Buchan Way, walks in the Southern Upland Way or some of the circular walks which are in the guidebook in the apartment? This is a great way to learn more about the history and landscape around Peebles. As the apartment is in a central location, parking is on-street and time-limited during the day. There is a large carpark just on the other side of Sainsbury's, opposite the apartment where parking is plentiful.
