Located right in the heart of the centre of Ithaca's capital, Vathy, a natural harbour of great beauty that oozes memories of ancient glory. The accommodation is located a heartbeat away from the town's market where you can find all necessary amenities cafe's, bakeries, pharmacy, supermarkets, ticket agencies etc. The house can sleep up to six people and consists of two double bedrooms and a single bedroom with two single beds. All three bedrooms have their own fan, aircon and tv. There are two bathrooms each with its own shower and toilet. The hallway opens up onto a spacious living room and a large dining area. The separate kitchen is fully equipped for your stay and includes a double door fridge. There is also a washing machine for those staying for longer periods and wanting to do their own washing. For more beautiful outside space there is a backyard with a lovely outside area where you can sit under the shade of the pergola during the summer and enjoy the views. There is also a private barbecue area perfect for entertaining. Moreover the surrounding private garden adds to the size and also the beauty with its greenery and flowers, its bougainvillea’s, lemon tries, its grapevine under which you can enjoy your Greek evenings. The outside area, the ‘back yard’ can be used as a lounge area as it is fully furnished with a dining table and sofas to relax. Our Host will be there to welcome you and make sure you have everything you need. Th House is located just a 100m away from the Port where you have access to water taxi's, daily cruisers, taxi's and buses. The main port of Ithaka 'Piso Aetos' is just a 20min drive from the Town Centre. On a 5min walk proximity you will have access to popular cultural landmarks such as the Maritime and Cultural Museum, the Archaeological Museum and many more. You will get restaurants, bars and cafe's with on your doorstep, allowing for an easy relaxing trip without the hustle. All car rentals and ticket agencies are very close by. We definitely recommend to have or rent a car or bike. This way, you will make your stay more complete and take advantage of all the places worth visiting. You will be able to approach some of the most iconic harbour villages and beaches as well as mountain villages and spectacular landmarks of the island. Worldwide famous as the home of Odysseus, Ithaca symbolises the return to the haven, the discovery and the fulfillment. Despite its proximity to Kefalonia (Cephalonia) (2km northeast) it is peaceful, quiet and undiscovered from it, thus being an ideal place for alternative activities and a holiday living up to the standards of the most demanding ones amongst us. With its 27-kilometre long and 6.5-kilometre large mountainous surface, it boasts plenty of hiking as well as mountain bike trails in a sequence of blue and green alongside the coast and through olive, cypress, pine, oak, arbutus and carob trees up on the hills. Scuba diving and sea kayaking are some of the options too, while the Cave of the Nymph will give you the chance to combine an exciting visit with a myth: Odysseus had hidden there the gifts he had brought along from the land of the Phaeacians.
