Situated next to the castle in the historic centre of Skipton, officially the happiest place in the UK and gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, the property benefits from a rural secluded feel, but is just two minutes’ walk from the centre of the town. There are wonderful walks to enjoy from the door in Skipton woods, or up on the fells. We have canals, steam railways, Bolton Abbey and the Yorkshire Dales national park, all within easy reach. We have Two Luxury Bed & Breakfast Rooms available all year round. The latest additions to The Bailey Skipton are our two new Boutique Bed and Breakfast rooms. Finished to an extremely high standard, the spacious rooms feature comfortable king-sized beds with top class Harrison mattresses, sumptuous pillows and duvets and Egyptian cotton bedding. After a wonderful night’s sleep, you’ll be treated to a classic home-cooked Yorkshire breakfast (or book "Room Only Rates" if not required) featuring award winning local produce and little extras such as homemade granola, freshly baked bread and homemade jam. Whilst check in is from 15:00 and check out by 10:00, guests are welcome to park up from 12:00 noon to explore Skipton and can remain parked until 12:00 noon on the day of departure. Mark has spent 30 years in Corporate Banking – but decided that the trouble with the rat race is that even if you win the race, you are still a rat. He always dreamt of running a holiday business and decided enough was enough. When bankers became the new traffic wardens it was time for a change. Mark is the lead cellist with Leeds Symphony Orchestra and plays cornet in Otley and Skipton Brass Bands. He is a keen fell runner and cyclist. Kay is a practising physiotherapist dividing her time between paediatric patients and her true love, veterinary physio. She qualified with a masters in veterinary physio this year and has launched a new business in Skipton – The Dog Physio. You will have a designated parking spot but Skipton is on the rail network so you can easily access Leeds, Bradford or even travel on the world famous Settle to Carlisle line. There are wonderful walks in Skipton woods or on the fells. Bolton Abbey is 10 minutes away and Skipton is full of great pubs, restaurants and cafes. You can hire a day boat on the Leeds / Liverpool canal, road or mountain bikes from us or even book a chauffeur driven tour of the Yorkshire Dales in a classic car. We have a beautiful, large enclosed garden and hard wired BT WiFi. The hut has parking for one car. Although check in is 3 p.m., you are welcome to park up any time from 12 noon onwards and wander into town for a delicious lunch! The room price includes a wonderful Full English breakfast featuring local, award winning produce.
