COVID-19 UPDATE: 17 May 2021 - hurray! The restrictions have lifted and we're able to start having a bit of fun and take some much needed holidays. We do still have the use of face masks, sanitiser and antibacterial wipes though to help with keeping the virus at bay. Coronavirus may have disrupted your plans to holiday abroad but why not embrace the situation we find ourselves in and take the opportunity to explore the many beautiful locations England has to offer. We understand that guests may be a bit unsure of what to expect given the circumstances. We can assure you that you will receive a warm welcome (socially distanced) and you'll be able to enjoy a clean and comfortable stay. We take the health and safety of our guests seriously. Going forward, we have adopted additional cleaning methods. Our enhanced cleaning means that all handles, remote controls, switches and surfaces are given a final wipe down with an alcohol-based cleaner to ensure you have a safe stay. In addition, we will provide antibacterial wipes so you can re-wipe these surfaces for your own comfort. Local supermarkets, takeaways and pubs are open and have good distancing practices active. Social distancing is practised well in our area and we ask you to join us in distancing when walking in the local area. Queensbury is noted for being one of the highest villages in England, at 1,100 feet above sea level. Our home is set in a beautiful rural English setting with views of the rolling countryside. Built in the 19th century the accommodation is set in a former school house rumoured where the famous author, Charlotte Bronte, once taught. We are only a 10 minute drive to Howarth Village, famous for its old cobbled streets, quaint shops and the birthplace of the Bronte sisters. Skipton is a 30 minute drive, Bolton Abbey 40 minutes, Burnsall, Grassington, Linton and its Falls are a 45 minute drive. The heart of The Yorkshire Dales is 70 minutes away with outstanding scenery and natural habitat surrounding it. 30 minutes to the city of Leeds and 45 minutes to Manchester. You can also visit the local farm shop and treat yourself to some good old Yorkshire goodies. You can also take a walk around Ogden Water which is a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk where you can take in the far reaching views. Look out of the window in the accommodation and you'll see the horses and sheep that are kept on site. We look forward to welcoming you into our countryside home. Whether you're just passing through and wanting to stay for a night, or your looking to stay a little longer for work or to visit family and friends, you will not be disappointed. As this is our home, it is important to us to know who will be staying with us. Registered guests should not allow non-registered guests to stay in the property. All additional guests must be registered and included in the booking. The price you see is the price you pay. No additional cleaning fees will be added to the cost of your stay. In addition, a discount is included in the overall price for extended stays. Ground floor access through your own front door. En-suite studio with the sitting area combined with the sleeping area, as per the pictures. The kitchen is large and you will have shared access with family members. Tea / coffee / herbal tea, hot chocolate & milk for beverages is included. I don't have a food hygiene certificate so breakfast is not included but please feel welcome to bring your own breakfast goodies to prepare in the kitchen. As the floor is tiled it can be a little chilly on your feet so remember to bring your slippers for your comfort. Outside seating (if and when the weather allows). I'm looking forward to the arrival of Summer :-) Ample free parking available for any size of vehicle ranging from a mini to a wagon! 2 residents living at the home - both are fully vaccinated. We can be around if you have any queries. Happy to chat (at a safe distance) alternatively happy for you to have your own space. There's also 1 dog and 1 cat who live at the property but they do not have access to your living areas. Country pubs serving traditional good food close by - booking is advisable (closed Monday & Tuesday). Robertshaws farm shop is within walking distance (1km) for groceries and Yorkshire treats. Outstanding views, gorgeous countryside for miles. Walking trails nearby. The Piece Hall in Halifax has recently undergone a £19 million conservation and transformation programme. It was built in 1779 as a Cloth Hall for the trading of ‘pieces’ of cloth. It now hosts heritage tours to afternoon tea, craft fairs and bell ringing experiences and it's only a 15 minute drive. Friday to Sunday Christmas market is on through December. Good central place to stop off for onward visits to Leeds, Manchester, The Lake District, Scotland, London and many more. Queensbury is served by two key bus services: the 526 (operated Yorkshire Tiger) and 576 (operated by First Buses). The 526 provides an hourly service connecting Queensbury to Halifax, and the 576 provides (on average) a 15-minute service connecting it to Bradford and Halifax. The nearest railway station is located around 6km to the south at Halifax. Services from Halifax provide connections into Bradford, Leeds, Manchester and further afield with direct services to London. Free parking is available at Moss House. Shared access to the kitchen and its facilities for light meals to be prepared. Access is via a spiral staircase. Early check in can be facilitated on a weekend - just ask :-) Please note, the price per night is based on 1 or 2 persons using the double bed. If the sofa bed is required this is classed as an additional person/s at a cost of £9.00 per person/s. For example, if 2 persons wish to sleep separate please book for 3 persons. This will ensure that you have full use of the sofa bed with additional bedding. I am happy to answer any queries you may have beforehand.
