The Boat House Retreat

A beautifully presented studio style cabin set in the pretty gardens of the owner's property. There is a decking area overlooking a pond and small waterfall which makes for a very tranquil and relaxing setting for al fresco dining. Parking available. The living area has ample space for the king size bed, a large wardrobe and drawers, a seating area and a dining area. There is a kitchenette in the corner of the cabin which offers an mini oven with grill and hotplates, as well as a kettle and toaster, so it is ideal for self-catering. There is also a lovely shower room with sink, toilet and cupboards. The Boathouse is set in the main gardens but is self contained, has it's own private entrance, is 100 yards from the main house, is not over looked so offers privacy. There is a private driveway for parking and a private decking area and garden for guests' exclusive use. The friendly owners are on site throughout the day but will leave guests in peace. The kitchen will be stocked with essentials such as milk and teabags on arrival Pretty, semi rural setting that has good access to Arundel, Chichester, Portsmouth and Brighton. Barnham train station that has lines to Brighton, Portsmouth and London is a 2 minute drive away and offers free parking or there is a local taxi service that can offer transport to and from the station. The M27 is not far which offers access to both East and West Sussex and Hampshire. The Boat House is located close to the village of Eastergate in West Sussex. Within walking distance of the cabin are a choice of pubs, as well as Denmans Garden Centre which has an excellent café serving lunches, as well as teas, coffees and cakes. The local village of Barnham (1.5 miles) offers further dining choices and take-away options. There are many pubs within 5 minutes drive and both Chichester and Arundel offer a wide selections of places to dine. For horse racing enthusiasts, the race courses at Fontwell and Goodwood are both within easy reach, in fact, Fontwell is just a stones throw away. Goodwood also offers something for the motor racing fan, with the world famous Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival events being held annually on the estate, which is about 5 miles away. The historic and attractive city of Chichester is about 6 miles to the west of Eastergate and is perhaps most famous for 900 year old cathedral that dominates the skyline. There is a great selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants in the centre of the city, as well as a choice of supermarkets and leisure activities. About 6 miles to the east is the town of Arundel, which is home to a large medieval castle. The town centre is wonderful for lovers of antique shops, for tea rooms, restaurants and for walks along the river that runs through the town. The beach at Climping is also a popular spot and is about 5 miles from The Boat House. For a peaceful countryside walk, the South Downs National Park is only a short drive away and offers many walking routes, including the South Downs Way tat runs from Winchester to Eastbourne. Further along the coast are the cities of Portsmouth and Brighton, each offering great shopping and places of interest. Portsmouth is home to the Royal Navy and the historic dockyards feature the famous Mary Rose, as well as HMS Victory and HMS Warrior. Brighton is best known for its seafront and pier, along with a fantastic selection of independent shops in The Lanes.
