A modern, spacious, well-equipped, dog-friendly, 4* Visit England-rated holiday home set in a fantastic location near the Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Nature Reserve. The peaceful location & high quality accommodation provide the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. The beach is just a 5 minute wander away, Mablethorpe is a 3 mile walk along the beach or a 5 mile car drive, Louth & Alford are 20 minutes away by car with Skegness, Cleethorpes, Lincoln & the Lincolnshire Wolds within easy reach. This beautiful space was built in 2016 on the site of an exciting holiday let that we've run for a few years. It is amazing! It offers guests exactly the type of space, comfort, style and tranquility that we hoped for. Garden Lodge has 3 bedrooms. Upstairs there is a double bedroom which has a private balcony overlooking the sand dunes. There are two chairs on the balcony for that relaxing morning cup of coffee whilst watching the day begin in the most tranquil of ways. Also upstairs is a twin room with a single futon which acts as the bed for the 7th guest. Both rooms have ensuite shower rooms and TVs and hairdryers. Downstairs there is a twin room, again with TV and hairdryer, which is close to the amazing family bathroom. The bathroom has a bath and a huge low level shower cubicle, as well as a heated towel rail to keep your towels snuggly and a shaver point. The living space downstairs is open-plan with comfy seating for 7 and patio doors opening out onto the enclosed garden. A gorgeous solid oak table in the dining area will comfortably seat 8. The kitchen is very well-equipped with dishwasher, fridge-freezer, electric ceramic-hob cooker, microwave and all crockery, glassware, pans and cooking utensils. We really do go the extra mile to ensure that you have to hand all the kitchen bits and bobs that you take for granted at home - aiming to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. The washing machine and tumble dryer are in the utility room, which also has it's own sink and is an invaluable place for drying off doggies and kids after a long sandy beach walk! All bedding, linen and towels are provided. There is a flat-screen TV, a DVD player and a CD player and digital radio. Also we have Wifi at no extra charge and a selection of DVDs, books and games. For those warm afternoons and evenings we supply a BBQ and a bag of charcoal as well as sun loungers and a some outdoor games.. as well of course as buckets and spades for the daily trip to the beach! Dogs are very welcome but please do mention when booking that you are bringing furry friends with you. The entire building is your's for holidaying, as is the private enclosed garden in front of the Lodge. There are two private, off-road parking spaces available for guests. We will be around and here to help but will in no way impose on you. If you would like to know anything about the area please just ask. Please note that we live quite close by and will be using the shared yard / driveway but will in no was impinge on your space which is completely private. We will not enter the lodge unless you need us, but if you do we can soon pop over. If you are after a relaxing getaway then we have it! Long lazy days relaxing indoors or in the garden, long walks on the beach, exploring the Nature Reserve, going on day trips - whatever your idea of a relaxing holiday Garden Lodge is a great place to do it. The Lodge is located down a single track road that leads from the main Mablethorpe to Grimsby road to the beach, and the area is popular with dog-walkers. We are a field away from the Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe National Nature Reserve and if you walk down the drive and turn right you will very soon find yourself at the beach. It's not far even for small legs! The best thing is it's really quiet here! The nearest shop is 5 miles away and the nearest pub is about 2 miles away on the other side of the village, so if you just want pop-down-the-road convenience then this isn't the place for you. A car or bike is essential for holidaying here. Although, saying that we have had guests who bring supplies for the week and then abandon the car in favour of a week travelling only on foot - and this place is perfect for that (and the big fridge-freezer means it is very possible!!). We do provide lots of information booklets and leaflet on places to go, places to eat, takeaways, walks and cycle routes as well as a little bit of local history. We are always pleased to direct you to places that we think might be of interest to you. Mablethorpe is roughly a 3 mile walk along the beach or a 5 mile drive (though there is always the option of walking there and taxi back - which is kind of the best of both!), slightly further south and you will come to the golden beaches of Sutton-on-Sea, then Sandilands (if you get here you must pop into the Fat Seagull cafe for a coffee and a piece of cake!), and then Huttoft (the Car Terrace is a great place to eat fish and chips in the car and watch the sea!) and Anderby Creek (check out the Cloud Observatory and have a cuppa in the cafe) . If you visit in November or December a trip to see the seals at Donna Nook is essential. It is a spectular place to see at this time of year when thousands of seals come ashore to have their pups and the volunteer wardens on site are always happy to answer questions on the seals. At anytime of year the Lincolnshire Wolds which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are a beautiful place to visit and are a haven for walkers and cyclists and the more energetic explorers (anyone who says that Lincolnshire is flat has never been here!) 20 mins or so by car will get you to Alford where you will find the Manor House and Alford Craft Market shop, or also to Louth which is a bustling market town with award-winning butchers and cheese shops and a regular Farmers' Market where you can sample local produce. Skegness and Cleethorpes are roughly 45 minute drives away - one south, one north and you will find plenty of traditional seaside town activities here as well as some lovely tourist attractions. To get to Lincoln you are looking at about an hour's drive but with the Castle and Cathedral and the beautiful area of Steep Hill to explore it is well worth planning a day trip. Please note that we are located in a rural area. The field surrounding the lodge is agricultural and we have no control over the management and workings of the land, therefore at certain times there may be harvesting / ploughing / seed-drilling which may create a slightly less tranquil noise level for an hour or so. Personally, I love to watch the combines as does my daughter!
