We are taking coronavirus extremely seriously and recognise that we can provide you with a level of social distancing that may be difficult in your own home. The cottage is entirely separate from the house and you can check in without any contact. We are deep cleaning between each booking with linen washed at 60 degrees and hard surfaces bleached. We can also help with grocery deliveries. Do contact us if you have further queries. For full information on each cottage - please see their individual listings. Please contact me for pricing. I have changed it for the individual listings - and this is a combination of the two. The Old Stable and The Gardener's Cottage are in a detached building separate from the main house. They each have their own entrance and are set within the extensive gardens of The Old Rectory. The Gardener's Cottage has its own garden and in addition there are lots of spaces to explore and in which to find a quiet spot. The house is set in 18 acres and recognised by Natural England for our species rich grassland - with wildflower meadows, a small woodland and rare butterflies. You are welcome to explore. Kites nest in the garden - badgers and muntjac abound. An owl fell down our chimney! If you love wildlife - you are in the right place. We live in the main house. We will either be available on site or via phone. The cottages are entirely separate - so apart from when you arrive, or when you need us, you won't see us. There is a comprehensive guide to the local area - but sometimes it is easier to ask a specific question. If this is the case, we would always be happy to share our knowledge with you. We have lived in the area for nearly 20 years - with our four kids - so have lots of ideas for days out. We are located two miles from the market town of Princes Risborough, in a rural setting. Princes Risborough has pubs, a wine-bar (!), restaurants, multiple food shopping options and all the general amenities you would expect. We have lived in the area for almost 20 years and are therefore well acquainted with things to do and see in the area – with or without kids. We have created a folder full of ideas. If you would like us to email it to you as a document before you arrive, so that you can make lots of plans, we can do so after booking (the app doesn’t let us share contact details before that point). The Chiltern's contain fabulous walking and both The Ridgeway and The Chiltern Way pass through our property, so you are ideally situated to enjoy the vast network of Public Footpaths. There are three pubs within a 45 minute walk. For those who appreciate fine dining, we are extremely close to both the multi-award winning Mash Inn and also The Charles Napier. Slightly further afield are Le Manoir aux Quat'Saison and The Crazy Bear. There are also many slightly lower key pubs with a more every day offering - many of which can form part of a circular walk direct from the cottage. The Phoenix Trail, a traffic free cycle route, can be accessed less than two miles away and provides a family friendly cycle ride to Thame. For hard-core cycling, my husband, Phil, will give you all the pointers you require! Hughenden Manor, the West Wycombe Estate and Waddesdon Manor are all close by - as are the towns of Henley, Marlow, Thame and Berkhamsted - or for those who would like a retail extravaganza - Bicester Village is only two stops on the train. For those coming by car, there is plenty of parking on site. For those coming by train, the closest station is Princes Risborough. If you need transport - if we are around, we may be able to collect you for a small charge. It might be easier than a taxi. It is less than a 10 minute cycle if you are coming with a bike by train. There is a local bus service that stops on the A4010 – 10 minutes walk from the cottage. For those coming by air, we are less than 40 minutes from both Heathrow and Luton. The Old Stable sleeps 2 adults and a child comfortably; The Gardener’s Cottage can sleep up to 4 – in all kinds of combinations of adults and children. We can provide a travel cot, or roll out mattress, or linen for the sofa beds, depending on your requirements. Please note there is not currently a table large enough for the entire group to be seated for a meal together inside. We can organise an alfresco table! There is parking on site and lockable space if you have bikes. We have a socket that can be used to charge an E-vehicle on an honesty basis. For those in The Old Stable, uou will have seen from the photos that there is a fabulous cast iron spiral staircase. Although we have baby gates, if you have young children, you will need to make sure they are supervised on the stairs. We have dogs, cats, pigs and at some times in the year, sheep. We have ducks which frequent the garden and have been known to arrive on the doorstep of the cottage! They are all extremely friendly, but if you are a bit nervous, please just let us know in advance. Because we have animals on site we are not currently able to accommodate dogs. If you have wet coats to dry - a puncture to mend - a tennis racket to borrow - please just ask. We want your stay to be perfect.
