Flint at Launceston Farm, cottage for two with indoor swimming pool & sauna

Flint is one of the two small self catering cottages at Launceston Farm near Blandford in Dorset. This two storey cottage opposite the main Farmhouse has its own private courtyard with outdoor bateau bath for soaks under the stars. Popular with dog owners, you can step out of the front door onto farm tracks which run for miles across the chalk downlands of the surrounding Cranborne Chase, Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty. Guests have access to the farmhouse gardens and the indoor swimming pool. The local pub is a five minute walk into the village. If it’s not walking weather, while away the afternoon in the 12m indoor swimming pool and sauna (available to guests 7:30am-7:00pm). Curl up on the sofa in front of the wood burner with a DVD or a good read. If you don’t feel like cooking, order one of Sarah’s two course farmhouse suppers delivered hot to your door or take a 5 minute stroll down to the award winning village pub. Take a trip to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast for a paddle in the ocean and the catch of the day. Enjoy a large slice of British heritage at one of the nearby National Trust and English Heritage Properties including Corfe Castle, Stourhead Gardens and Stone Henge. Nature lovers must visit Monkey World and Abbotsbury Swannery. Shop in independent boutiques for homewares and fashion in the Georgian market towns of Shaftesbury, Salisbury, Sherborne and Wimborne. My place is at the heart of the Dorset countryside close to traditional, cosy pubs and a short drive from the Jurassic Coast. You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, the views, the comfy bed, and the outdoor bateau bath. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and furry friends (pets). Guests can access the entire home, the Courtyard garden, indoor swimming pool and sauna. Flint guests do not have access to The Farmhouse gardens and Orchard. We live on site but our house is tucked away behind the indoor pool so whilst we are available to help if you need us but once we have welcomed you we like to leave you to enjoy your holiday in peace. The Tarrant Valley is an idyllic slice of British rural life where time appears to have stood still all together. The Medieval thatched cottages clustered around the old village green are a delight to behold. Take a stroll from the Farm down to the village pub, splash through the water ford if you are feeling brave enough. This is the land of village fetes, duck racing and scarecrow competitions. Dorset cream teas and home made cakes are sold every Sunday afternoon in the village hall through July and August. One mile walk to the bus stop on A354. Bus to Salisbury or Blandford. The nearest railway stations are Salisbury (15 miles), Poole (15 miles) and Dorchester (23 miles). COVID-19 UPDATE From 31st December 2020, restrictions on travel due to Covid-19 have been extended across the country. We are all being asked to "stay local" and, as we have no idea how long the additional restrictions will be in place, we have taken the decision not to accept new bookings with an arrival date before the 28th February 2020. If you would like to book a stay with us for dates later in 2021, please contact us directly before placing a booking. Please remember that this is a working farm and we ask you not to enter the farm yard, to be vigilant when walking on farm tracks and not to enter any fields with livestock.
