Large rural 17th century 2 bed cottage, sleeps 6
Terre Neuve house and guest cottage form part of a traditional Jersey farmstead which dates back to the 17th century. The large 300 year old cottage is fully independent from the main house and benefits from its own entrance, parking and patio garden. Situated in the Jersey countryside and surrounded by fields, the nearest beach is less than a mile away and the local village only an 8 minute walk. The cottage benefits from the following facilities; Downstairs; Lounge with 2 sofas, traditional fireplace with log burner and television. Dining room with 6 seat country dining table and chairs and a sofa (sofabed for very occasional use and by agreement with the hosts only) Kitchen equipped with fridge/freezer, oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and washing machine. All cutlery and crockery are also provided along with tea and coffee. Patio with al fresco table and chairs. 1 parking space (more available by prior arrangement only) Upstairs; Bedroom 1 sleeps two people in a double bed Bedroom 2 is a large room that sleeps four. It has a single bed with further pull out single below plus a full size bunk bed, there is also a wardrobe and chest of drawers. Large bathroom with full size bath and shower, sink and toilet. I live in the main house (next door) with my family. We are around most of the time and will be available for any questions you may have. Situated in a pretty rural location to the north of the island and surrounded by fields. The nearest beach is less than a mile away and the local village with a pharmacy, general store, post office, café, butcher, doctor, pub, childrens play areas and ancient church dating back to 1150AD only an 8 minutes walk. The best way to see Jersey is by car, bicycle or on foot and there is also a local bus service. One car parking space is provided with the cottage and a regularly serviced bus stop providing connections all around the island can be found in the local village approximately 8 minutes walks away. I would like to point out that old cottages like ours can be a bit cooler in the winter months. Whilst every room does have a radiator, there is also a log burner in the lounge and we provide additional blankets and hot water bottles, the old floors can be a bit cold so I would recommend that guests bring slippers when staying in the colder months. For a small additional fee, we can provide a fire kit for the log burner which includes logs, kindling, newspaper and matches. Guests are also welcome to purchase their own if they prefer. Finally, the cottage is next to a road so whilst we are in a lovely rural location surrounded by fields, there will be some road noise so please don't expect total silence. Thanks - Andrew and family
