The Barn, a peaceful country retreat.

The Barn's situated in a private location; overlooking New Mills, with spectacular; unrestricted views, including Kinder Scout. Amazing walks sit on the door step of The Barn proving a great escape and easy access to gentle walks and cycle routes. The Barn provides opportunities for those seeking an active break to venture into the country. Equally, it is ideal for those who wish to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a relaxing break in a tranquil location. @thebarnholidays The Barn has lots of space for everyone to enjoy. It boasts an open plan lounge/dining area with seating for up to 8. With picturesque beautiful views all around overlooking the town. There is parking for two cars and a private patio space for guests with a small wendy house for young children (2years and over) to enjoy. Guests have access to a private patio which is separate from my own next door to allow them to relax in peace. The extended garden and outbuildings are not accessible to guests. I live next door in the farm house. I want this to feel like home while you stay here. So please sit back, relax and enjoy your holiday. You may see me pottering around. The beauty of being next door is I am always available if needed but otherwise do not interfere with your holiday. Proving easy access to gentle walks along the Peak Forest Canal, The Torrs and the Sett Valley Trail. The more avid walker or cyclist can take advantage of The Barn being located on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Providing access to many walking routes within the Peak District; including Kinder Scout. Lots of Country pubs are also within walking distance, the closest being The Pack Horse Inn, Mellor. Just up the hill you will find New Mills Golf Club, where you can also buy refreshments. This is one of 13 Golf clubs in a 6 mile radius. New Mills centre is only a 10-15 minute walk, offering local shops, pubs and eateries and a large park for children. The Barn is only a short scenic drive to other tourist attractions Hayfield, Buxton, and Lyme Park. Slightly further you will find Castleton, Chatsworth, Edale, Bakewell and Matlock. New Mills provides transport links from New Mills Central Train station to Manchester and Sheffield and Newtown Train Station provides links to the well known spa town of Buxton. New Mills Central Station provides direct links to Manchester and Sheffield. and Newtown Train Station provides links to Buxton. Both of which are within walking distance. There are buses which travel from New Mills to Hayfield, Macclesfield, Stockport and Manchester. The Barn has a private parking area for guests to park their car/s (room for 2) and details of local taxi services are provided here.
