Hurstbourne Tarrant is nestled within Hampshire’s Bourne Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The village, lying within the famous 44 mile Test Way walk, is popular amongst walkers and cyclists as well as individuals simply looking for a break from the fast pace of everyday life. The village has excellent transport links to the A303, A34, M3 and M4. There are also train services from Andover (10 minutes away), Whitchurch (15 minutes away) and Newbury (20 minutes away). There are many local points of interest. Highlights include: Highclere Castle (of Downton Abbey fame) and the Bombay Sapphire Distillery. Slightly further afield, Stonehenge, the towns of Stockbridge and Hungerford and the historic city of Winchester are all well worth visiting. We would highly recommend a trip to our village pub, the George and Dragon. For those wishing to venture further afield to eat we are spoilt for choice, - our personal favourites include the Jack Russell (Faccombe), The Crown (Upton), the George (St Mary Bourne) and The Fox (Tangley). The Bourne Valley Inn (St Mary Bourne) has a lovely beer garden. WE WOULD ADVISE BOOKING, especially at weekends, do let us know if we can help with this. As well as the George and Dragon Pub the village is home to the Tea Cosy which serves a delicious collection of cakes, soups and sandwiches (Wed-Sun). The Happy Shopper sells all basic necessities. For those with children, the King George V Playing Field is a very short walk from the annexe and has a lovely park with plenty of space for burning off energy. Most guests arrive by car. This property does not have a kitchen. There is a kettle/tea/coffee/fresh milk/cups and water glasses as well as a fridge in the annexe however, we do not provide breakfast and there are no cooking facilities in the annexe. Please note there is a larger than normal step into the property, (please see photo featuring annexe door). We will provide a camping step to those who need it.
